Bonner-Prendergast knocked Archbishop Wood out of the baseball playoffs three years ago on a walk-off hit by pitch in a game Friars coach Joe DeBarberie said he would never forget.
Bonner-Prendergast beat visiting Archbishop Wood on another walk-off hit by pitch Thursday, 2-1, in a Catholic League matchup, and DeBarberie will have a reason to remember this victory, as well: It was the 100th of his career.
"It means, for six years going into my seventh, I've had tremendous players and great coaches on my staff," said DeBarberie, who received a celebratory cake from the players' mothers after the game.
"I think that, from a credit standpoint, without those coaches and players, I wouldn't be in position to win my 100th game."
Bonner-Prendergast loaded the bases in the seventh inning when Nick Lazer singled, Guy DiGiacomo walked, and Jesse Basben reached on an infield single.
Brendan Phillips was hit by a pitch to end the game.
"It was an unbelievably good game for this early in the season," DeBarberie said.
Elsewhere in the Catholic League, Connor Golden had a home run and a double and drove in four runs to help host Archbishop Ryan dispose of St. Joseph's Prep, 13-3.
Suburban One National. Brendan Gallagher had two hits and drove in two runs as Abington topped visiting Council Rock North, 5-3.
Suburban One Continental. Bobby Scott homered to help host North Penn edge Central Bucks South, 5-4.
Suburban One American. Charlie Hooker was a single short of a cycle in Upper Moreland's 8-5 win against visiting Upper Merion.

Ron Demetteo homered, doubled, and knocked in three runs in Penncrest's 6-0 win at Ridley.
