Sat. Pa. boys’ and girls’ roundup: Keenan captures 400

Gwynedd-Mercy's Emma Keenan quickly separated herself from the field as she dominated the girls' 400-meter dash at Saturday's 28th Annual Pennsylvania Track Classic at Plymouth Whitemarsh.

Keenan finished in 56.10 seconds, more than five seconds better than second-place Cheyenne Oswald of Neshaminy (1:01.12). Keenan's time is the second-best state mark this season and edged the meet record of 56.47 set in 2009 by Brittany Wallace of Penn Wood.

In the 3,200 meters, Tori Gerlach of Pennridge pulled away from Notre Dame's Maria Seykora to capture the race in 10:47.21. That time is the nation's 12th best mark this season.

Tom Pitt of Malvern Prep captured the boys' triple jump by a thin margin. The senior's mark of 43-03 nipped the 42-2 by West Catholic's Bruce Mapp.

West Catholic's Todd Townsend won the boys' 300-meter hurdles in 39.88. Penn Charter junior Daryl Worley won both the 400-meter dash (49.61) and the 200-meter dash (22.53).

Hill School Relays. Host Hill School finished in second place in the boys' and girls' team rankings.

The Blues' Kwame Larbi finished in 42.38 to capture first in the girls' 300-meter hurdles. Grant Smith finished in second place in the boys' long jump with a mark of 18-101/2.

Junior lefty Seth Regensberg compiled a complete-game shutout as host Hill School turned away Blair Academy, 3-0, in a Mid-Atlantic Prep League game. Regensberg faced five batters over the minimum and struck out six while walking just three.

Nonleague. Lenny Klein went 4 for 4 with a pair of runs scored as Westtown outslugged host St. Andrew's, 11-9. Steve Baratta picked up the win with five innings of work and also added an RBI double.

Bradlee Lord scored a wraparound goal with 4 seconds left in regulation and Conestoga knocked off visiting Malvern Prep, 6-5, in a nonleague boys' game.

Lord also added three assists and Connor Frisina scored a game-high four goals. The Pioneers are ranked No. 2 in the nation by ESPN Rise.

Henry Blynn and Sam Rohr recorded hat tricks and Haverford School eased past St. Joseph's Prep, 13-6, at Cabrini College.

Blynn added a pair of assists and Jake Landman turned away 13 shots. Anthony Marini scored twice for the Hawks and A.J. Simon made 10 saves.

Dalton George netted three goals and assisted three others as Ridley pulled away from visiting Abington, 10-5.

Kyle Bush added a pair of goals and three assists. Tom McDermott turned away seven shots to secure the win.

Tim Lamb scored three times to help Great Valley edge visiting Radnor, 10-8. Greg Merrill paced the Patriots with a pair of goals and three assists. Ben Junior scored four rimes for Radnor.

Tyler Earley's six goals and Jackson Tamasitas' nine saves were enough for Penn Charter to ease past Robbinsville, 18-9. Drew Murray scored three goals and assisted on two others.

Evan Allvord found the net three times and Kevin McQuiston posted two assists to help Kennett knock off host Haverford High, 8-6. Kevin Lydon had a hat trick and two assists for the Fords.

Sean McDonald scored three times, and five other players scored one goal each as Pennsbury downed visiting Emmaus, 8-5. Calvin Hopkins had two assists and a goal for the Falcons.

Public. Eric O'Brien scored four goals and John Liebig had a hat trick as Northeast rolled past Mastery Charter-Shoemaker, 11-0, at Simon Gratz.

Conestoga knocked off Bishop Moore (Fla.), 14-5, in the AmLax Challenge in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Also at the tournament, Natalie Bohner's four goals weren't enough as Mount St. Joseph fell to Milton (Ga.), 13-9. Archbishop Carroll fell to Vero Beach (Fla.), 11-8.

Nonleague. Lynda Michaels scored four goals and added an assist, but Episcopal Academy fell at Cape Henlopen (Del.), 12-11.

Arden Simone scored five times and recovered four ground balls to help Baldwin rock visiting Westtown, 16-3. Ali Thaler scored five times and had four draw controls.
