Wed. Pa. boys' and girls' roundup: CHA leaves Florida with victory

Sam Feirson went 2 for 3 with a run scored and Dan Hull knocked in three runs and recorded a double. Mike Hayes picked up the win with a pair of perfect innings out of the bullpen and three strikeouts.

The Blue Devils finished 6-2 on the trip.

In other nonleague action, Kevin Huber went 2 for 3 and drove in a run to lead Interboro past host Ridley, 6-4. Dan Ouimette picked up the win with a complete game and eight strikeouts.

Dan Shane had three singles and Jake Gordon and Mike Kacergis each had two RBIs to lift Pennridge at Neshaminy, 9-4.

Ches-Mont. James Chapman's RBI single in the sixth gave Unionville a 8-6 lead and it held on to edge visiting Kennett, 8-7. Ryan Hissey went 2 for 3 with a home run.

Public. Frank Paulino's key double in the sixth inning helped host Northeast turn away Lincoln, 10-9. Howard Lynn posted the win and went 2 for 3 with four RBIs.

Pioneer. Mike Anthony struck out eight in a five-inning no-hitter as Methacton rocked visiting Pottstown, 12-0.

Softball

Brianna Andraos kept host West Chester Henderson off-balance to lead West Chester East to a 2-1 Ches-Mont League win.

The senior righty threw a complete-game one-hitter, fanned five, and walked four. Jackie Ingram scored both runs for the Vikings, who won their second straight league game.

Also in the Ches-Mont, Kate Poppe fanned eight in seven innings as Bishop Shanahan topped host Downingtown East, 2-0.

Nonleague. Junior Brynn Riesenberg hurled her first-career no-hitter to lead Germantown Academy over host Community Academy of Philadelphia, 13-0. The righty struck out 10 and walked three in five innings, as the game was shortened because of the mercy rule.

Lauren Munro drove in a pair of runs and Olivia Encarnacion struck out four batters as Interboro held off Archbishop Wood, 6-5. Marissa Gonzales went 2 for 3 and added an RBI.

Grace Finkbiner's two doubles and Cate MacQueen's seven strikeouts lifted Friends Select over visiting MaST Charter, 8-5. Finkbiner had three RBIs and MacQueen pitched seven innings, allowing one earned run.

Jen Walker hit a two-run double in the third inning as host Neshaminy pulled away from Souderton, 6-2. Lauren Quense posted the win with nine strikeouts, no walks, four hits over seven innings.

Nikki Alden drove in a pair of runs and pitched six innings with three strikeouts as William Tennent topped host Norristown, 4-0.

Lacrosse

Tim Bruemmer turned away 29 shots to help seal Council Rock South's 7-5 win over visiting nonleague boys' foe Interboro. Shane Magrann won each of his eight faceoffs and Nick Gugliemi added two goals.

In other nonleague action, Timmy Taylor scored three times to lift Archbishop Ryan at Neshaminy, 7-6, in overtime.

In girls' lacrosse, Brooke Kiley scored four goals and Kelli Stack scored three times as Germantown Academy rolled at Princeton Day, 13-8.

Kara Magely's four goals helped as Council Rock North edged Downingtown West, 9-8.

Boys' Track and Field. Strath Haven's Wellington Zaza set the school record in the triple jump as the Panthers topped Ridley, 112-38. His mark of 48 feet, 4 inches broker Lamar Campbell's 1995 mark of 46-7.

Boys' Basketball. Phelps' 6-foot-9 senior Mike Bedulskis gave an oral commitment to play basketball at UNC-Asheville. He is a native of Vilnius, Lithuania.
