Tues. Pa. girls' roundup: Cheltenham captures conference

The senior guard grabbed 10 rebounds, recorded six steals, and poured in 12 points to lead the Panthers to their 24th title in the last 26 years. Andrews is a St. Joseph's signee.

Giana Clark added a game-high 13 points and Katie Costello led Upper Moreland with 12 points.

Also in the Suburban One, Alex Wheatley scored six of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter as Council Rock South sprinted past host Pennsbury, 49-34. The Golden Hawks led by 16-11 after the first quarter.

Cassidy Koenig knocked down six free throws in overtime to lift Upper Merion over visiting Plymouth Whitemarsh, 44-33. Mary Jean Valeri hit a three-pointer with 1 minute left to send the game into the extra period.

Aiyannah Peal had 10 of her 15 points in the first half to pace host Abington past William Tennent, 44-32. Emily Willard added a pair of three-pointers.

Bicentennial. Allie Morganstein scored her 1,000th career point and Christopher Dock downed host Lower Moreland, 38-32. The senior guard is the eighth girl in school history to reach the mark.

Sophomore forward Kendra Stum grabbed 12 rebounds, blocked three shots, and added 12 points as host Calvary Christian downed Plumstead Christian, 22-14.

Veronica Asman knocked down three threes and Maureen Leis grabbed 15 rebounds to help Springfield (Delco) top MaST Charter, 46-30. Leis poured in a team-high 17 points.

Ruby Westkaemper scored five of her seven points in the fourth quarter to help Jenkintown pull away from visiting Bristol, 35-31. Maddie Kimball knocked down three foul shots in the fourth to help the Drakes.

Sophomore Jamie Barr rejected 17 shots and Jocelyn Chavous and Stacey MacArthur each had a game-high 16 points as Delco Christian topped visiting New Hope-Solebury, 47-37.

Inter-Ac. For the first time in 15 years, Penn Charter topped Germantown Academy. The host Quakers won, 52-36. Dee Thomas-Palmer led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds. MaryKate O'Brien chipped in with 15 boards.

Megan McGurk recorded four steals and four assists as Notre Dame rolled over visiting Baldwin, 52-17.

Sydni Epps knocked down four threes and Springside turned away host Episcopal Academy, 41-36. Gianna Pownall and Elana Roadcloud each added 11 points to aid the win.

Catholic Academies. Bridget Higgins hit three threes as Mount St. Joseph moved into first place in the league with a 45-39 win at Nazareth Academy. Alex Louin added a game-high 21 points.

Erin Fennigham grabbed 15 rebounds and poured in 13 points as St. Basil held off host Gwynedd-Mercy, 48-46. The hosts rallied from a 46-39 deficit to get within two before flaming out. Molly Greenberg hit three threes to aid the win.

Catholic. Meghan Petroski scored eight of her team-high 23 points in the third quarter as Little Flower pulled away from visiting Bishop McDevitt, 65-32.

Three of host Archbishop Wood's seniors combined for 15 points in the fourth quarter as the Vikings put away Lansdale Catholic, 39-33, on Senior Night. Lauren Nealon scored six points, Taylor Kaminski had five points, and Alex Heck had four. Wood entered the fourth trailing by 28-21.

Charlotte Kucowski scored 12 of her 18 points in the second half as St. Hubert rolled at Archbishop Prendergast, 49-36. Kerry Anne Farrell led Prendie with 13 points.

Central. Lindsay Price grabbed 13 rebounds and hit a five-foot baseline shot in overtime to lift host Radnor over Penncrest, 55-53. Kyla Crombie sent the game to OT with a foul shot with 2 seconds left and also added four steals.

Maddie Tessier-Kay blocked five shots and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead Conestoga over visiting Haverford High, 35-29.

Kuity Slanger hit a pair of three-pointers and Upper Darby rolled over visiting Lower Merion, 57-38.

Del-Val. Janera Handy scored a game-high 25 points and dished out six assists as host Chester downed Chichester, 57-46, to capture the league crown. Camry Adams added 13 rebounds.

Forward Rylee Power recorded six steals and grabbed six rebounds to lift Marple Newtown over visiting Strath Haven, 53-42.

Ches-Mont. Sam Busillo's jumper sent the game into overtime and Avon Grove rallied to top host Bishop Shanahan, 40-31. Busillo led the visitors with 12 points.Nonleague. Senior guard Cassandra Gainey scored five of her 13 points in the first quarter as Morrisville raced to an easy 50-15 win over visiting Faith Christian.

Senior point guard Anyae Cardwell scored 10 of her game-high 12 points in the middle quarters as Christian Academy eased past host Cumberland Christian, 34-25.
