Tues. Pa. girls' roundup: Springfield edges Radnor

Olivia Kane hit her first bucket on Tuesday night with 6 seconds left as host Springfield (Delco) rallied past Central League basketball foe Radnor, 41-40.

Kane's layup capped a 15-5 quarter for Radnor, as the Red Raiders overcame an 11-point deficit. Alex Poplowski chipped in with nine rebounds and four blocks.

Also in the Central League, Erica Brown grabbed 11 rebounds and Melissa Levy had 10 as Marple Newtown downed visiting Penncrest, 52-42. Rylee Power chipped in with four steals.

Emily Koscinski scored all 10 of her points in the second half as Garnet Valley rallied past visiting foe Conestoga, 37-29.

Koscinski added nine rebounds as the Jaguars erased a two-point halftime deficit. Coley Ricci led Garnet Valley with a game-high 11 points, three steals, and a pair of assists. Liana Weishaar had 10 points for Conestoga.

Strath Haven tied the game in regulation on a layup and won at Harriton in OT, 47-39. Jamie Morris and Bridge Scott had 14 points each for the visitors.

Inter-Ac. Senior guard Emily Wetz became Agnes Irwin's all-time leading scorer, but the Owls fell to visiting Penn Charter, 47-32. Mary Kate O'Brien led the visitors with 12 points in the second half.

Wetz passed 2008 graduate Megan Pauley's mark of 1,032 with a foul shot in the second quarter. She now has 1,045 career points.

Sydni Epps poured in 22 points as Springside held off visiting Notre Dame, 52-39.

Catholic Academies. Merion Mercy hit 13 of its 14 free throws in the fourth quarter en route to topping visiting St. Basil, 47-37. Julianne D'Orazio knocked down five of her six foul shots in the fourth and Tina DiGiacomo added eight points and eight rebounds.

Courtney Shaw scored eight points in the second quarter and Villa Joseph Marie downed host Mount St. Joseph, 49-43. Mary Newell added eight of her 13 points in the third quarter. 

Friends Schools League. Maria Conyers-Jordan scored 11 of her 21 points in the third quarter and knocked down a pair of threes as Friends' Central downed visiting Abington Friends, 52-19.

Gabby Gibson's game-high 22 points were enough for Friends Select to down Moorestown Friends, 48-31.

Catholic. Sophomore guard Emily Kiersnowski came off the bench to knock down a pair of threes as Archbishop Wood rolled over visiting Archbishop Prendergast, 54-20.The three-pointers kick-started a 13-8 second quarter.

Omawumi Rafiu and Maureen Fiocca scored 11 points each as Neumann Goretti romped past Little Flower, 59-22.

Behind a balanced offensive effort, Lansdale Catholic eased past host Hallahan, 59-25. Jackie McCarron finished with 11 points, and 12 Crusaders scored.

Shanice Johnson scored 10 of her 12 points in the first quarter and Cardinal O'Hara easily dismantled visiting St. Hubert, 53-22.

Suburban One. Lauren Crisler grabbed 12 rebounds and scored seven points to help North Penn turn back visiting Central Bucks South, 32-23.

Tyra Roberts scored nine of her team-high 13 points in the second quarter as Bensalem knocked off visiting Neshaminy, 31-28.

Senior forward Alyssa Dumont scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and recorded four steals as Council Rock North downed visiting Pennsbury, 44-32. Dumont scored nine of her 16 in the fourth quarter.

Ches-Mont. Senior guard Cami Redfern knocked down three free throws in the fourth quarter to ice Unionville's 36-34 win at Sun Valley. Allison Lewis added 14 points.

Nikki Thompson knocked down four three-pointers en route to a game-high 16 points as Downingtown West rolled at Bishop Shanahan, 42-20. Noelle Alicea chipped in with 13 points.

Danielle DiSanto scored 12 of her 24 points in the third quarter and Great Valley eased past host Kennett, 54-27. The Patriots knocked down all 16 of their free throws.

Del-Val. Haley Sipple grabbed 10 rebounds and finished with 14 points to lift Chichester over visiting Penn Wood, 55-30. Maddie Thornton knocked down three threes and scored 15 points.

Nashia Little grabbed 11 rebounds to accompany her 10 points as Chester turned away Interboro, 59-53. La'Naysia Dixon grabbed eight rebounds and recorded three blocks to aid the win.

Bicentennial. Emma Dorshimer scored 11 of her 13 points in the first half and Jenkintown raced away from visiting Calvary Christian, 51-20. Maddie Kimball chipped in with eight of her 10 points in the first half.

Nonleague. Kelsey Farnham grabbed 13 rebounds and Sierra Guenst hauled in 10 as Calvary Baptist knocked off visiting Faith Christian, 40-35. With the win, the Warriors clinched first place and a first-round by in the ACCAS tournament.
