Cardinal O'Hara head coach Tim Kelly said it was the most crowded his gym had been in about 25 years. And for good measure. The Lions' 51-25 win over Catholic League foe Monsignor Bonner on Friday night took a backseat to the likely end of a long-term rivalry, due to the scheduled closing of Bonner.
"It was a game both teams looked forward to," said Kelly. "Emotions were high. . . . It was a really neat experience."
Senior forward Ed Allen grabbed eight rebounds for the win while Sean Havink's 16 points led all scorers.
Paul Pfeffinger's six points led Bonner.

Instead, Ryan Furst was fouled on his shot attempt with one-tenth of a second left on the clock. Marple was whistled for a technical foul due to the fan's reaction. Furst knocked down one of two foul shots, allowing Matt Sherman to tie the game with his two technical foul shots. In overtime, Marple ran away with a 13-2 period and the fans celebrated once more.
