Pa. Girls: Levin lifts Barrack Hebrew to victory

Barrack Hebrew got a career-high nine goals from Dani Levin and needed almost all of them to outlast visiting Del-Val Friends, 20-13, in a Tri-County League lacrosse game on Monday.

Levin, a junior, also added a pair of assists for the Cougars (9-2).

Softball

Edison pounded visiting CAPA, 20-5, in a Public League playoff qualifier, getting a five-hitter from Yamilet Hernandez.

In other first-round qualifiers:

Barb Danhardt pitched a three-hitter and Washington scored 12 first-inning runs in an 18-3 win over visiting Franklin Learning Center.

Jaileen Bernard's grand slam highlighted Kensington's 15-5 win at Frankford.

Catholic. Mary Cate Scott pitched her seventh shutout of the season for Lansdale Catholic in a 5-0 win over visiting Little Flower. Scott gave up four hits and struck out eight.

Erica Ragazzone pitched a one-hitter for host St. Hubert in a 15-0 win over Archbishop Prendergast.

At the Hatboro Little League Complex, freshman Deanna Messner's first varsity at-bat was a home run down the left field line in the sixth inning of Archbishop Wood's 8-3 win over St. Basil. Brianna Heck also homered for the Vikings (5-6).

Central. Freshman shortstop Kate Robinson snagged a pair of line drives to put out rallies as Upper Darby won at Garnet Valley, 5-1. Savannah Nierintz pitched a four-hitter.

Bicentennial. Jessica Good pitched a one-hitter for Calvary Christian in a 12-0 win at Plumstead Christian.

Janai Blackwell had two hits and five RBIs for Morrisville in a 15-0 win at New Hope-Solebury.

Suburban One National. Nikki Alden had three doubles for William Tennent in a 17-8 win at Council Rock South.

Ches-Mont. Sydney Robey allowed just one hit over six innings in pitching host Downingtown West past Unionville, 10-0. Michelle Nardo had three hits for the Whippets.

Steph Makowski walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning to give host West Chester Henderson a 5-4 win over Kennett.

 Friends Schools. Caroline Satalof pitched a two-hitter and had three hits for Friends' Central in a 12-2 win over visiting Academy of the New Church.

Tri-County. Abby Kiel went 4 for 4 with four runs scored as Perkiomen School won at Barrack Hebrew, 18-2.

Soccer

Rosie Henao's four goals lifted Girls High to a 4-1 Public League win at Washington. Henao had three second-half goals.

In other league games:

Rachel Logan scored a goal in the first half and one in the second to lift Masterman past Science Leadership, 2-0.

Janera Franklin, Brianna Johnson and Lois McCormick scored for Dobbins in a 3-0 win at Olney, the final game of the regular season for the Mustangs, who are off until a playoff game on May 18 at Washington.

Naya Campbell had four goals for host Furness in a 6-0 win over Martin Luther King.

Bodine got a pair of goals from Maria Athanasiadis in a 3-2 win over visiting Overbrook.
