Sat. Pa. boys' and girls' roundup: Three race wins for North Penn girls

The North Penn girls took three first-place finishes at Saturday's Central Bucks West Relays and Alicia Piscitelli was part of two of the finishes.

Piscitelli teamed with Kayla Charles to win the 2x300-meter shuttle hurdle relay in 1 minute, 36.92 seconds and combined with Nicolette Hill to take the two-person pole vault relay (18-0).

The Maidens also won the 4x1,600-meter relay (21:51.99).

with a team of Rachel Brown, Courtney Kern, Colleen McGovern and Meghan McGovern.

Central Bucks West girls took four relays (distance medley, sprint medley and 4x200- and 4x400-meters).

Central Bucks South provided one of the highlights in the boys' competition, winning the 4x800-meter relay in 7:53.78, the fastest outdoor time in the state this season. That team was made up of Joe Waddington, Austin Gregor, Ryan Dickson, and Andrew Bernardo.

Wet weather forced one event (boys' high jump) indoors.

In a battle between two of the top 10 teams in the state, No. 9 St. Joseph's Prep needed overtime to hand No. 7 Malvern Prep a 9-8 defeat.

The catalyst for the Hawks (8-3) was Fenton Fitzpatrick, who had five goals and an assist. Brad James added two goals and three assists.

Malvern Prep is now 6-4.

Germantown Academy, ranked No. 5, traveled to New Jersey to hand Peddie School a 14-7 defeat.

Beau Jones, a senior who is a University of Delaware recruit, had a goal and five assists.

Two juniors, Billy Oppenhiemer and Reid Weber, each scored four goals.

The Patriots (10-1), who have lost only to top-ranked Haverford School, have a rematched scheduled at Haverford School for Tuesday.
