West Chester East softball pitcher Brianna Andraos picked up just where she left off a season ago, and that was a pretty good place.
Andraos, a junior, opened up her season on Monday with dominating effort on the mound in an 8-0 Ches-Mont League win over visiting Kennett. She pitched all seven innings, giving up three hits and striking out nine.
Last year, Andraos pitched the Vikings to the league championship with a 15-1 regular-season record and a 0.19 ERA, hurling complete-game shutouts in 11 of her 15 starts.
In another league game, host Downingtown East overwhelmed Great Valley, 12-0.
