Cameron Stimpson pitched the first two innings and earned the win, while Aaron Ross, Dan Stern, and Hayden Gruber contributed a hitless inning each.

Gruber and Sam Brodfuehrer paced Friends' Central's offense with two-run singles in the fourth inning, when the Phoenix scored five runs.

In another nonleague game, Matt Galetta belted a three-run homer and drove in six runs to lift Haverford School to a 17-1 win over visiting Phelps.

Matt Broomall earned his first varsity win on the mound after helping the Fords hold the Lions to one hit over four innings.

Galetta added a single, scored twice and stole a base to support Broomall.
