Henderson wins three events at district swimming

At La Salle University, West Chester Henderson took first-place finishes in three of the five events to highlight the second day of the District 1 Class AAA boys' swimming championships on Saturday.

The other events were completed on Friday.

The Warriors' Andrew Kosic posted a 44.45 in the 100-yard freestyle to set a meet record. Teammate Thomas McCormick won the 100 breaststroke (58.19) and the pair were part of a winning 400 freestyle relay team with John Maza and Brian Whitehead.

North Penn won the Class AAA team title, while Springfield (Montgomery County) was the AA team winner.

In the girls' competition, the team titles went to Upper Dublin in Class AAA and Villa Maria in AA (which set a meet record in the 400 freestyle relay of 3:33.49).

Second-day individual records in Class AAA went to Danielle Siverling of Downingtown East in the 100 freestyle (50.16) and Christina Leander of West Chester East in the 100 backstroke (55.60).

Council Rock North posted a 3:30.06 in the 400 freestyle relay on Saturday, a meet record.
