Two SOL baseball players make college choices

Ryan Pater, a hard-hitting senior at Central Bucks East, has committed to play baseball at St. Joseph's University.

Last season for the Patriots, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound outfielder batted .523 with a .579 on-base percentage. He was a first-team all-Suburban One League Continental Conference selection.

Pater, a wide receiver and defensive back for C.B. East's football team, plans to sign a letter of intent Monday in a 1 p.m. news conference at the school.

Upper Moreland senior catcher Dave McInerney, another of the Suburban One League's top returning players, has committed to the University of Cincinnati.

McInerney hit .432 last season with a .510 on-base percentage, 17 RBIs, 15 runs, and 5 doubles. He was a first-team all-American Conference pick.
