Ex-Overbrook star commits to St. John’s

Former Overbrook scoring sensation Nurideen Lindsey, now at Redlands Community College in Oklahoma, has accepted a basketball scholarship offer from St. John's.

Former Overbrook scoring sensation Nurideen Lindsey, now at Redlands Community College in Oklahoma, has accepted a basketball scholarship offer from St. John's.

Lindsey, a 6-foot-3 point guard, averaged 35.8 points in Public League action in 2007-08. A 1,315-point career scorer, he first committed to La Salle University.

Lindsey, 20, did not play for Redlands last season, instead focusing on his academics. When he joins the Red Storm next year, he will have three years of athletic eligibility remaining.

Lindsey, who averaged 34.5 points overall in 2007-08, chose St. John's over runner-up Auburn.
