Germantown Academy beats Malvern Prep in Inter-Ac cross-country

Germantown Academy placed three runners in the top 10 and scored 46 points to beat the defending champions by eight points at Chestnut Hill Academy.

Dustin Wilson won for the second-straight year, running his 3.1-mile home course in 16 minutes, 36 seconds. He was second as a freshman.

The Patriots, who last won the title in 2002, were led by Drew Gill who was sixth in 17:30, Max Huang-Hobbs who finished seventh in 17:31 and Nick Meloro who placed ninth in 17:36.

Malvern Prep had won every title since 2003.

Soccer

After starting the season with a 3-3-3 record, Perkiomen Valley has gone 9-0-1 since and beat Pottsgrove, 4-2, at Owen J. Roberts to earn a spot in the Pioneer Athletic Conference final.

The Vikings will meet Spring-Ford Wednesday night for the title at Owen J. Roberts at 7 p.m. Perkiomen Valley and the Rams tied last Thursday, 0-0, in double overtime.

Michael Chen contributed a goal and an assist on a goal by Alex Lauderback.

In the other semifinal at Owen J. Roberts, Jake Harringer notched a hat trick and sparked Spring-Ford to a 6-1 win over Phoenixville.

Eric Giovagnoli scored twice and assisted on the Rams' first two goals.

Public. Mark Coates scored twice and helped Philadelphia Academy Charter beat host Masterman, 3-2.

Kabine Conde scored three of his four goals in the first half and sparked Martin Luther King to a 5-3 win over visiting Engineering & Science.

Willo Mimber accounted for a goal and an assist and lifted Bartram past host Washington, 2-0.

Suburban One Continental. Dan Caya scored with a minute remaining in the game and gave Pennridge a 2-1 win over visiting Central Bucks West.

Matt Robinson and Michael Robinson collected goals and led North Penn past visiting Souderton, 2-0.

Ches-Mont. Luis Segura stopped 10 shots on goal and earned his first win as a starter as Coatesville held on to beat host Oxford, 2-1.

Jimmy McLaughlin scored on a direct kick in the first half and Great Valley slipped past host Sun Valley, 1-0.

Bicentennial. Billy Nolan scored with 55 seconds left in overtime and gave Lower Moreland a 4-3 win over visiting Devon Prep.

Nolan's game-winner came off an assist from Alex Martins who had a pair of assists.

Kyle Klein struck for a first-half goal for visiting Holy Ghost Prep, but New Hope-Solebury tied the game with 27 minutes left and the Lions forged a 1-1 double-overtime tie.

Matt Kyne notched a hat trick and handed Delco Christian a 3-0 win over visiting Springfield (Montgomery County).

Tri-County. Julian Romano's first-half goal pulled Kimberton Waldorf into a 1-1 double-overtime tie with visiting Barrack Hebrew.

Alex Moshal scored for the Cougars midway through the first half and Romano scored five minutes later.

Ethan Toomey scored the game-winning goal with 21 minutes left in the game and Faith Christian beat host Phil-Mont Christian, 3-2.
