Tues. Pa. girls’ roundup: Selig’s four goals lift Shipley

Selig, a sophomore, scored on her first penalty kick to break a 1-1 tie in the second half and help the Gators (7-1 overall, 2-0 league) remain unbeaten in the league. All four of her goals were unassisted and she now has 10 this season.

Abington Friends remained unbeaten in league play by scoring three goals in each half of a 6-0 win at Academy of the New Church. Christina Furlong had six saves in goal for the Kangaroos..

Inter-Ac. Penn Charter rallied for four second-half goals to forge a 4-4 tie at Notre Dame. The Quakers got two goals from Lauren Dimes. Kristin Bandos scored three of the Notre Dame goals.

Christina Kubach's goal with two minutes left in regulation tied it.

Central. Emma Husted-Sherman and Jean Scanlan each scored twice for host Strath Haven in its 7-0 win over Marple Newtown.

Bicentennial. Soraya Toppin-Herbert scored a pair of first-half goals for Phil-Mont Christian in its 5-1 win at MaST Charter.

Catholic Academies. Meghan Ledwith and Mia Patrick scored for host Villa Joseph Marie in its 2-0 win over Mount St. Joseph.

Nonleague. Maria DiMedio had a goal and an assist for Episcopal Academy in a 3-0 win at Hun School.

Lexi Mayo's goal 52 minutes into the game put Lansdale Catholic on top for good in a 3-1 win over visiting Gwynedd-Mercy.

Hannah Whitby scored an insurance goal two minutes later for the Crusaders. Megan Poieszcq added a pair of assists.

Field Hockey

Juania Velasquez posted her fourth shutout of the season to highlight Northeast's 4-0 Public League win over visiting Rhodes.

Isabelle Campanaro, Angie Gonzalez, Ashley Harkins and Erica Thompson scored for the unbeaten Vikings (6-0).Traneya White scored a pair of goals for host Girls High in its 4-0 win over neighborhood rival Central.

Selena Powers scored three goals for host Washington in its 4-0 win over Lincoln. Barbara Danhardt also scored.

Catholic. Kelly Anderson scored three minutes into the second half to give Archbishop Ryan a 1-1 tie at St. Hubert.

Taylor Carroll scored a first-half goal for the Bambies.

Inter-Ac. Brooke Kiley scored a pair of goals wrapped around two by teammate Catherine Perlmutter to give Germantown Academy a 4-1 win at Baldwin.

Central. Sophomore Olivia Kane scored a goal and added an assist for host Springfield (Delaware County) in its 2-0 win over Penncrest.

Harriton stunned visiting Conestoga, 2-1, as Caleigh Foust scored both goals.

Nicole Ward added the game's only other goal and keeper Theresa Porcellini needed 10 saves to post the shutout.

Suburban One National. Rachel Rotteveel and Brittany Sheehan each scored twice for host Neshaminy in a 6-0 win over Truman.

Brittany Calvert added two assists.

Suburban One American. Lauren Becker scored all three goals in the first half as Wissahickon won at rival Upper Dublin, 3-0, handing the Cardinals their first conference loss of the season.

Suburban One Continental. Jessie Accurso scored twice as Central Bucks South, top-ranked in The Inquirer's Southeastern Pennsylvania Top 10, beat visiting Hatboro-Horsham, 4-1.

Danielle Weidman scored both goals for Central Bucks West in its 2-2 tie at Pennridge.

The Titans (9-0-1) also got a goal and two assists from Kayla Kenney.

Ches-Mont. Caitlin Walsh's five goals powered Downingtown West to an 8-1 win at Coatesville. She has 11 goals.

Sarah Coblentz scored both goals for host Downingtown East in a 2-0 win over Bishop Shanahan.

Pioneer Athletic. Kira Shollenberger scored two minutes into overtime to give Pope John Paul II a 3-2 win at Methacton.

Catholic Academies. Karleigh Carlin, a junior, scored 3 minutes, 30 seconds into the game to give host Sacred Heart a 1-0 win over Merion Mercy.

Classmate Lara Haab assisted on the play. Taylor Brady had seven saves in goal for the Lions (7-3).

Caroline Troncelliti's hat trick powered host Villa Maria, No. 2 in The Inquirer's Top 10, past Gwynedd-Mercy, 6-2. Sam Ostoich added a pair of goals for the unbeaten Hurricanes (11-0 overall, 8-0 league).

Emilee Ehret and Jenna Seybert each had hat tricks for host Mount St. Joseph in its 12-0 win over visiting Nazareth Academy.

Nonleague. Matthea Roemer and Cassandra Butler scored for host Kimberton Waldorf in its 2-1 win over Quakertown Christian.

Claudia Kronfeld had a good eight minutes for host Friends' Central in its 5-1 win over Solebury School. Kronfeld scored three consecutive goals over an eight-minute span of the first half.

Leslie MacManus scored 10 minutes into the second half to give Episcopal Academy a 1-1 tie at Shipley. The Gators led, 1-0, on Ellie Anderson's goal with two minutes remaining in the first half. Julia Boyle had 15 saves in goal for the Churchwomen. Shipley's Alex Cones had 12 saves.
