Thirteen up, how far will they go?
The kinda-in portion of the PIAA state basketball playoffs takes place tomorrow tonight, then the real stuff begins later this week.
A baker's dozen of District 12 teams will be involved - two in Class A, three in AAA and four apiece in AA and AAAA. There are five official rounds, though two of the 13 teams will first have to fight their way through play-in encounters.
In tomorrow night's play-ins, A runner-up Constitution will travel to Millersburg, near Harrisburg, for a 7 o'clock meeting and Ben Franklin, 12's No. 3 seed, will take a short trek to 40th and Parkside, near the zoo, where it will meet Devon Prep, 7:30, at The School of the Future. (Goofy name, right? Join us in just calling it Future.)
The other teams must bide their time until Friday (A-AAA) and Saturday (AA-AAAA).
