Radnor's DiCocco wins McNabb's tickets
DiCocco is Radnor's junior class president and starting center and nose guard. He has a 3.0 grade-point average. He is involved in fundraisers in and out of school.
"I just want to let you know that Greg has taken in one of his teammates to be part of his family," Radnor coach Tom Ryan said in an e-mail. "He is now living with the DiCocco family that consists of five kids. This is just one simple act of kindness.
"He is a leader on and off the field. He is always helping the younger kids with skills and understanding plays."
McNabb continued the award program this year after Brian Dawkins left for Denver in free agency.
Last year, Dawkins gave his two tickets for home games to deserving players, and McNabb is doing the same.
The winner must attend the game with an adult chaperone (it must be a parent, guardian or coach). DiCocco will meet McNabb after the game and receive two pregame sideline passes, courtesy of the Eagles.
The winners are chosen for exhibiting great effort on the field and in the classroom, as well as showing great character off the field.
Nominees are submitted to the Daily News, and the final selection is made by McNabb. *
