High school football games to watch
Ted Silary on the city leagues
Public AAAA Red
Northeast at Washington
Today, 3 o'clock
Northeast's Malik Stokes and Washington's Aaron Wilmer are fun-to-watch quarterbacks, but cast your eyes at least a few times along the line of scrimmage. Washington's Sharrif Floyd is one of the country's top prospects.
Catholic AAAA
SJ Prep vs. Judge, at Northeast
Tonight, 7 o'clock
While much of the early season attention has gone to Prep and La Salle, Judge has quietly gone about its business waiting for Statement Time. Prep thrice has rallied from double-digit deficits to win. Falling into a hole against Judge is not advised.
Nonleague
West Catholic vs. Wood, at Wissahickon
Tomorrow, 1 o'clock
Each school advanced to a state final a year ago. West (AA) still has a dynamite offense. Despite heavy losses to graduation, Wood (AAA) shows no inclination to go away.
Mike Radano on South Jersey
Bishop Eustace at Cinnaminson
Tonight, 7 o'clock
Bishop Eustace will head up Route130 a slight favorite but that should be nullified upon arrival at Cinnaminson. This should be a tight defensive contest with the winner getting a boost in the Burlco Olympic National Division.
Paulsboro at Haddon Twp.
Tomorrow, 10:30 a.m.
Paulsboro has history on its side as these two Colonial Conference mainstays square off just across the street from Newton Creek. The Hawks are 3-0 and would love to send a message to not just the Red Raiders but the entire Group 1 field.
Washington Twp. at Pennsauken
Tomorrow, noon
The host Indians had a wakeup call last week in a thrilling, 22-21 win over Lenape. Pennsauken needed senior Gerry Phillips to make a great tackle on a 2-point conversion with just over a minute to play to hold on for the victory. Washington Township seems comfortable with its newly installed spread offense as both squads look to remain undefeated.
Joseph Santoliquito on Delaware County
Dunbar (D.C.) at Glen Mills
Tonight, 7 o'clock
The 2-2 Bulls could use some help after surrendering 72 points in their last three games. Dunbar won't be easy. The Crimson Tide is 4-1 and averaging 44.8 points over its last two games.
Academy Park at Penn Wood
Tomorrow, 10:30 a.m.
Both teams come into their Del-Val League opener with 4-0 records. Both feature offenses that could post big numbers, with Penn Wood averaging 34.7 points a game and Academy Park averaging 25.7 points a game. The one glaring difference is Penn Wood's defense, which has faced slightly better opposition.
