Mt. St. Joseph forward Hagedorn commits to play for Harvard

Elle Hagedorn, a high-leaping senior forward from Mount St. Joseph Academy, has orally committed to play basketball for Harvard.

The 5-foot-10 Hagedorn drew interest from a number of Ivy League schools. Locally, she had a scholarship offer from Drexel.

Last season, with her strong rebounding and clutch scoring, Hagedorn helped lead the Mount to a 29-3 record, a second straight Athletic Association of Catholic Academies championship and the PIAA Class AAA state title.

Another local player, Archbishop Carroll senior Hollie Mershon, has committed to Drexel. The 5-foot-11 guard-forward also considered Mount St. Mary's (Md.) and Elon.
