St. Basil's soccer team scored three goals against host Mount St. Joseph in a Catholic Academies game yesterday and Kate Mansfield had her foot in all three.
Mansfield scored twice, including the game-winner 3 minutes into overtime, and assisted on another goal as the Panthers edged the Magic, 3-2.
Mansfield assisted on a goal by Tish Derer, while Megan Rothwell scored both goals for the Mount.
Casey Rankin, Erica Petrone and Lindsey King contributed goals to lift Villa Joseph Marie past visiting Nazareth Academy, 3-0.
Daniela Chieffo stopped 18 shots for Gwynedd-Mercy as the Monarchs fought host Villa Maria to a 0-0 double-overtime tie.
Kelsy McAnelly stopped five shots for the Hurricanes.
Catholic Red. Courtney Neimic notched a hat trick and lifted Little Flower to a 5-0 win over host St. Hubert.
Megan Tole scored twice to lead Archbishop Ryan past visiting Archbishop Prendergast, 5-0.
Catholic Blue. Nica Meccariello scored on a penalty kick with 20 minutes left in the game and handed Neumann-Goretti a 2-1 win over host Hallahan.
Kristen Phillips and Mackenzie Pinto scored their first varsity goals as Lansdale Catholic tripped visiting West Catholic, 8-0.
Katie Fitzmartin picked up a hat trick and led Cardinal Dougherty past host Kennedy-Kenrick, 4-1.
Central. Chrissy Bradley earned a hat trick and boosted Conestoga past visiting Marple Newtown, 6-2.
Strath Haven used goals by Sarah DiBerardinis, Dana Kaminski, Michaela Whitelaw and Maddie Soffer to beat visiting Upper Darby, 4-0.
Freshman Carly Ichniowski scored her first two varsity goals and led Lower Merion to an 8-0 win over visiting Penncrest.
Nonleague. Shana Salch and Laura Lacy accounted for goals as Solebury School beat visiting Doane Academy (N.J.), 2-0.
Field Hockey
Gretchen Guaglonone scored with 5 minutes, 41 seconds left in the first half and and assisted on another to spark Wissahickon to a 4-1 win over Upper Dublin in a Suburban One American Conference game.
Central. Taylor Egolf and Emily Labowitz each scored goals to boost Lower Merion past host Penncrest, 2-0.
Suburban One Continental. Christina Maida stopped six shots on goal for Central Bucks East and the Patriots downed host Pennridge, 3-0.
Ches-Mont. Casey Kellogg scored 7 minutes into the game and gave Downingtown West the only goal it would need in a 4-0 win over visiting Avon Grove.
West Chester East got goals from Brittany Brignola, Chelsea Droogan, Kandyce Peterson and Allie Rothman and beat visiting Coatesville, 4-0.
Bicentennial. Taylor Seiz and Celise Feller scored in the second half to boost Plumstead Christian to a 2-0 win over host Lower Moreland.
Nonleague. Maura McKendrick scored the first and fourth goals of the game and sparked Notre Dame to a 4-0 win over visiting Academy Park.
Golf
Hillary Lasoff edged Council Rock North teammate Caroline Gaston by four strokes and won the Suburban One championship at Five Ponds Golf Club.
Lasoff fired a 79 and Gaston carded an 83 to lead the way for National Conference golfers. Jordan Glatt of Central Bucks East was third overall and the first finisher from the Continental Conference with an 87. Aliza Shatzman of Upper Dublin was first in the American Conference and seventh overall with a 92. All four golfers qualified for the District 1 tournament.
