Cardinal O'Hara's Savage to announce college choice

Tom Savage will enter his senior football season with peace of mind. In fact, he's giving himself about a 4-month head start.

Savage, a 6-5, 215-pound quarterback for Cardinal O'Hara High, has called a press conference for 2 p.m. tomorrow, at his school, to announce his college decision.

Though Georgia, Tennessee, Louisville, Miami and Pittsburgh have been pushing hard, there are strong indications that Savage's choice will be Rutgers.

Savage has passed 190-for-426 for 2,547 yards and 20 touchdowns in three varsity seasons. He missed five games last season due to injury. His brother Bryan, a product of Haverford School, is the starting QB at Hofstra and has one season of eligibility remaining. *
