S.J. football: Paulsboro outlasts Haddon Heights in OT

When it happened to Paulsboro on Saturday, it only made running back Dehron Holloway stronger.

The sophomore received a handoff in both overtime sessions and scored 25-yard touchdowns on each in the Red Raiders' 42-36 win over visiting Haddon Heights in Colonial Conference play.

Holloway finished with 135 yards and five touchdowns. Carlton Aiken threw for 184 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown pass to John Pellegrini.

WJFL American. Michael Welsh took care of business for Shawnee in a 42-7 victory over host Cherry Hill East. Welsh not only threw for 164 yards and two touchdowns, but he also rushed for three touchdowns. Matt Stubin and Anthony Mague were on the receiving end of Welsh's two touchdown passes.

WJFL Diamond. Riley Giles led the charge for Deptford in a 48-7 win at Gloucester Catholic. Giles threw for 338 yards and five touchdowns. Three of his TDs were to Jean-Paul Roane, who finished with four catches for 111 yards.

WJFL Liberty. Robbie Forchion carried the ball only six times, but totaled 203 yards rushing and a touchdown for Pemberton in a 40-7 win at Delran. Joe Benson also put together a standout performance, tossing for 175 yards and three touchdowns. Kaleel Warthen led the Hornets defense, totaling 12 tackles, and added two rushing touchdowns on offense.

WJFL Patriot. Bryan Pettway threw for three touchdowns in the first half for host Burlington Township in a 43-14 victory over Lawrence. Two of Pettway's scoring passes were caught by Everett Wormley. Pettway also found Chancy Caranda for a 20-yard score.

WJFL National. Senior Quinn Collins led the charge for Delsea, scoring three rushing touchdowns in a 57-36 win at Pennsauken. Tahjze Summial and Rashaad Williams were also in the mix, each scoring rushing touchdowns.

Andrew Goshine had an impressive performance for Pennsauken, throwing for 327 yards and five touchdowns.

WJFL Freedom. Gino Tortoriello rushed for three touchdowns in the second half, and New Egypt defeated Maple Shade, 27-0. Kyle Frimel also scored for the Warriors, returning an interception 45 yards for a touchdown.

Cape-Atlantic American. A 15-yard pass from Jamir Prevard to Doug DeBerry in the third quarter put Atlantic City ahead, and the Vikings held on to win, 21-14, at Vineland. DeBerry finished the afternoon with three touchdown catches.
