For the second week in a row Salem's football team got revenge against a team that defeated the Rams last year.

One week after a 24-14 win over Glassboro, Salem defeated host Gloucester, 49-0 in Thursday's West Jersey Football League Classic Division matchup.

Last year, Salem lost 41-15 in the second week of the season to Glassboro and 24-20 the next week to Gloucester.

The tables have turned for the Rams, who are 3-0 overall, 2-0 in the Classic and host rival Penns Grove next Saturday.

"I wasn't surprised at the margin of victory tonight," said Salem quarterback Shaeef Jefferies, who rushed for three touchdowns. "We have been playing well."

Salem left little doubt by scoring on its first three possessions. Junior running back Jonathan Taylor had two rushing touchdowns and senior defensive back Teron Nance added two interceptions.
