S.J. girls: Testa sets St. Joseph hit record

Senior Carly Testa recorded the 156th hit of her career Thursday afternoon to set St. Joseph's all-time hit record in the Wildcats' 13-3 win over visitng Wildwood Catholic in a Cape-Atlantic League softball game.

The previous record was set by Samantha DiPompo in 2007.

In other Cape-Atlantic action:

Lynnsie Collins had three hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in a pair of runs in Buena's 15-0 shutout at Bridgeton. Sam Monfredo had a home run.

Brooke Segich had a home run and two RBIs in Ocean City's 15-6 home win over Oakcrest. Rachael Zeides scored twice. Amanda Martyn pitched a complete game and struck out six.

Julianna Garcia had a double, a triple, two RBIs, and two runs to lead host Middle Township over Our Lady of Mercy, 11-4. Nicole Fox added three RBIs and two runs.

Olympic. Charlotte Krebs struck out 10 to send Paul VI to a 5-1 win over visiting Camden Catholic. Alexa Toner had two hits, including a home run.

Jess Heaton tossed a complete game and struck out eight in Eastern's 6-0 victory over visiting Cherry Hill West. Maddie Morano had three hits and two RBIs. Steph Harvey was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run. Rachel Wood scored twice.

Burlington County. Lauren Booth tossed a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in Maple Shade's 10-0 home win over Westampton Tech. She also drove in three runs. Samantha Vallen was 2 for 4 with three RBIs. Mackenzie Karcher had a home run and three RBIs.

Alexandra Sarnese went 3 for 4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs to aid host Delran in an 8-3 win over Pemberton. Alexis Rider hit a double and scored twice. Christina Arroyo had three hits, two RBIs and a run.

Nonleague. Raiydyn Johnson picked up the win and drove in a pair of runs to pace Northern Burlington in its 10-3 victory over visiting Cherry Hill East. Ashley Zulla had two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Meredith Taylor had a double and two RBIs.

Lacrosse

Saige-Lyn Gidzinski and Megan Kilpatrick each scored three goals to lead host Camden Catholic past Sterling, 11-4, in the Olympic Conference.

Kathleen Petrucelli and Camille Pottillo each netted two goals.

In other Olympic Conference action, Katie Pileggi scored four goals, Katarina Ostbye netted three goals, and visiting Haddonfield defeated Paul VI, 15-3. Suzie Clark and Gracie Grimes scored two goals apiece.
