S.J. boys' and girls': Delsea rallies past Shawnee

Delsea erased an eight-point halftime deficit Saturday to slip past host Shawnee, 62-61, in a nonleague boys' basketball game. Keith Braxton had 29 points, 8 steals, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Kaleb Morton added 14 points. Kwame Morton contributed seven points and four rebounds.

Alec Warren sank six three-pointers and led Shawnee with 22 points.

In other nonleague action:

Hymid Taplin hit a layup with 15.1 seconds remaining to cap a big fourth quarter for Woodrow Wilson, giving the Tigers the 61-60 edge over visiting Pennsauken.

Taplin and teammate Dante Owens each scored 10 points. The Tigers were led by Tymere Carter's 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals.

Jeff Coney Classic. Lonnie Moore led Paul VI with 17 points in a 68-63 win over Medford Tech at Rancocas Valley. Voshon Mack added 12 points. John Armstead netted a game-high 22 points for the Jaguars.

Girls' Basketball

Taylor Bynoe did a little bit of everything to help Williamstown defeat Triton, 42-31, at home in a Tri-County Royal matchup.

In addition to scoring 20 points, the senior grabbed seven rebounds, made four steals, and dished out a pair of assists.

Colonial Patriot. Alexus McKeithan had 11 points, 22 rebounds, and 6 blocks to aid host Paulsboro in a 35-32 win over Lindenwold.

Wrestling

Down by six points with two matches to go, host Camden Catholic prevailed with a 33-32 win over Shawnee in a quad meet.

Mark McCormick earned a 6-2 decision at 145 pounds to bring the Irish within three. Shawn Stone sealed the victory with an 11-5 decision at 152.

Paul VI Quad. After surrendering an early lead midway through its match at home, Paul VI rallied to a 36-33 victory over Williamstown. Liam Kelleher clinched the win with a 3-minute, 45-second fall at 120 pounds.
