S.J. Girls: Lower Cape May tops Bridgeton

Basketball CAPE-ATLANTIC NATIONAL Lower Cape May 75, Bridgeton 31: Lauren Holden poured in 34 points, including a three-pointer to start the second quarter that made her the 25th player in South Jersey to surpass 2,000 career points, and the Tigers rolled on the road. Madison Gibson and Ariel McGee contributed 14 points each for the Tigers, ranked No. 6 in South Jersey by The Inquirer.

Northern Burlington 50, Pemberton 35: Kacie Walton scored 17, LaChelle Colbert added 13, and Erika Hill contributed 12 to give Northern Burlington the edge on the road.

NONLEAGUE

Woodstown 36, LEAP Academy Charter 20: Kayla Mayers scored her 1,000th career point from the foul line in the fourth quarter. She led host Woodstown with 13 points.

St. Joseph 37, Hammonton 31: Dana DiRenzo totaled 16 points and Krissy Kozachyn contributed 13 for the Wildcats in the road win.

Cherry Hill East 47, Seneca 40: Aliyah Godwin scored 15 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and the Lions held the host to a nearly scoreless third quarter to earn a win.

Woodbury 41, Schalick 14: Zeaenna Brackett scored 19 points and had five steals to lead host Woodbury to victory. Taylor Graham added five points, six assists, and three steals.

Pennsauken Tech 34, Palmyra 23: Georgiann Randall led the charge with 11 points in a home win for the Tornadoes.

Pitman 57, GCIT 42: Olivia Amawake rolled with 33 points, and Annie Beato added 10 for the Panthers at home.

Overbrook 43, Cumberland 32: Taylor Vanore dropped 27 points and Shainazia Peterson tacked on six points and grabbed 10 rebounds in a win for the host Rams.

Cinnaminson 43, Delran 39: Marisa DiLeo scored 17 to lead the Pirates to a home victory. Brenna Cloud scored 20 for Delran.

Softball

Haddonfield hired Brett Young as its softball coach. Young graduated from Haddon Township in 2000, where he excelled as a baseball player. He continued his playing career at James Madison University, and was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in 2002, but his career was cut short by injury.
