S. Jersey Boys: Fri. S.J. boys: Cherokee's Falk races to win

CROSS-COUNTRY BURLINGTON COUNTY OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS Nick Falk of Cherokee took first place on the 3.1-mile course with a time of 16 minutes, 42 seconds, helping the Chiefs earn the team win with 54 points at Mill Creek Park in Willingboro.

Nick Falk of Cherokee took first place on the 3.1-mile course with a time of 16 minutes, 42 seconds, helping the Chiefs earn the team win with 54 points at Mill Creek Park in Willingboro.

Isaiah Curbelo from Rancocas Valley placed second in 16:47, and Matthew Young of Maple Shade took third, in 16:52. Bharti Beepul of Northern Burlington and Matt Zubrzycki of Lenape rounded out the top five with times of 17:00 and 17:02, respectively.

Moorestown finished second in team points with 96, and Lenape was third with 102.

SOUTH JERSEY COACHES TOURNAMENT

Washington Township 2, Egg Harbor Township 0: George Charalabidis and Lou Vilotti scored goals to earn the home win for the Minutemen, the top-seeded team.

Haddon Heights 1, Clearview 0: Eric Cathcart scored on a Jake Roselle assist for an overtime win on the road for the 11th-seeded Garnets.

Haddon Township 4, Cherry Hill West 2: Phil Mehmet led the scoring with two goals, and Elzo Dunn and Sean Murphy also scored in the home win for the fourth-seeded Hawks.

BURLINGTON COUNTY LIBERTY

Cinnaminson 4, Burlington Township 0: Mark Staudenmayer scored twice, and Pat McCarthy and Chris Updike also tallied as the Pirates, ranked No. 7 in South Jersey by The Inquirer, triumphed at home.

TRI-COUNTY CLASSIC

Wildwood 2, Salem 1: Jared Irwin and Valentine Rodriguez scored in the road victory.

Irwin's goal was his 45th, breaking the school record for career goals.

NONLEAGUE

Westampton Tech 5, Maple Shade 1: Guilherme Decarvalho recorded a hat trick, and Julio Mata-Gonzalez and Isaias Rodriguez also scored in the home victory.

Overbrook 2, Winslow Township 1: Cary Robinson scored both of the Rams' goals and Eddie Uhrick had four saves in the road win.

Hammonton 2, Cumberland 1: Matthew Holmes and Zach Piro scored, and John Rhode had three saves for the Blue Devils at home.

Seneca 2, Burlington City 1: Clem Green scored twice in the second half to push the Golden Eagles past the Blue Devils at home. Burak Bolat had Burlington City's score.
