S. Jersey Girls: Thurs. S.J. girls: Moorestown storms into final

With hopes of playing for the championship, Moorestown showed its offensive strength Thursday.

The No. 1-seeded Quakers scored 13 first-half goals in a 20-4 rout of visiting fourth seed Notre Dame in the South Jersey Group 3 girls' lacrosse semifinals.

Marie McCool had eight points for Moorestown, netting four goals and four assists. Lauren Martinelli scored a hat trick.

Tristan McGinley and Kierstyn Voiro each had two goals and an assist.

In other sectional Group 3 action:

Princeton 17, Clearview 11 - Ali Donohue, Hannah Quast, and Holly Tevis each had a hat trick for No. 2 Clearview in a loss to visiting, third-seeded Princeton.

S. Jersey Group 4 Lacrosse Semifinals

Nicole Donnelly scored a team-high five goals for No. 1 Lenape in a 17-10 win at home over fifth-seeded Cherokee.

S.J. Non-Public B Softball First Round

Jackie Delong pitched a complete game in 11th-seeded Wildwood Catholic's 7-1 win at No. 6 Gill St. Bernard. Alexis Skidmore went 1 for 3 with a double and drove in two runs.

Other Softball

Ocean City's offense flourished in a 21-0 win over visiting Cape May Tech in a Cape-Atlantic National game.

Rachel Zeides, Malia Hindle, and Keani Hindle each had a triple among three hits for the Red Raiders.

Nonleague. Laura Gould drove in four runs on two hits, including a triple, to lead host Burlington Township to a 5-0 win over Burlington City.
