Fri. S.J. girls' roundup: Seniors bolster Willingboro

Willingboro leaned on its seniors in a 60-36 victory at Northern Burlington in a Burlington County League girls' basketball game Friday night.

Senior Micahya Owens led all players with 17 points and added eight rebounds and two blocks.

Senior guard Imani Stepney tallied 12 points with four assists. Gabriella Bennett, the Chimeras' senior center, anchored the defense by collecting eight rebounds to match her point total.

Willingboro raced to an early lead and by halftime already had scored more than the Greyhounds would in four quarters, taking a 37-10 lead into the break.

In other Burlington County League play, nine players scored to lead Florence to a 43-20 win over host Medford Tech.

Heather Horner registered a game-high 10 points.

Cape-Atlantic. Hammonton was no match for Middle Township's Lauryn Fields, as she led the host Panthers to a 73-30 win. Fields poured in 26 points and had seven assists. Teammate Lauren Legler filled the stat sheet with 16 points, eight rebounds, and five steals.

Julia Duggan recorded a double-double with 15 points and 16 rebounds in Ocean City's 49-29 win at Lower Cape May.

Tri-County . Schalick survived a late rally from visiting Pennsville and won narrowly, 36-35. Allissa Long paced the Cougars with 10 points.

Taylor Christina scored 17 and Amanda Schmidt added 15 as visiting Triton rolled over Delsea, 66-27.

Friends Schools. Emily McKeown scored 14 of Moorestown Friends' 18 second-quarter points as the host Foxes eased past Academy of the New Church, 44-14.

McKeown led all players with 17 points. Teammate Lauren Lowe added 10.

Ranney School Tournament. Doane Academy's Zaniya Lewis scored 12 points to advance the Spartans with a 46-18 win over New Jersey United Christian at Ranney School.

Nonleague. Cherry Hill West's Sasha Williams scored nine of her team-high 12 points as the Lions won, 44-23, at Camden Academy Charter.

Moriah Best scored 14 points and secured 10 rebounds to lead host Palmyra to a 40-26 triumph over Pennsauken Tech.
