Fri. S.J. girls' roundup: Buena's Pickett posts 500th victory

Buena softball coach Pam Pickett celebrated her 500th career win, Brittany Scott pitched her fifth no-hitter of the season, and the Chiefs clinched the Cape-Atlantic League National Conference title by burying host Bridgeton, 19-0, on Friday.

Allie Collins' three-run homer keyed a seven-run fifth inning that capped the rout.

In another Cape-Atlantic clash, Kelly Lupton struck out nine and walked one in tossing a two-hit shutout and Becca Maguire launched a two-run homer, sending host Absegami past Oakcrest, 9-0.

Tri-County. GCIT stunned Clearview by erasing a 7-0, sixth-inning deficit with a pair of four-run rallies, and Brooke Chisholm's bases-loaded walk brought home Molly Hamilton in the bottom of the seventh to give the Cheetahs an 8-7 win at home.

Olympic. Jen Piro pulled Triton even with a two-out triple and Desiree Martinez followed with a game-winning single, as the host Mustangs rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to nip Bishop Eustace, 5-4.

Colonial. Host Audubon manufactured a pair of first-inning runs and Hunter Urban made the lead stand, pitching the Green Wave past Sterling, 2-1.

Shannon Logan scored on a fielder's choice and Michele Arechavala drew a bases-loaded walk that brought home Valerie Pineiro.

Burlington County League Tournament. Brittany Granahan batted 3 for 4 with three RBIs and carried a shutout into the seventh inning in pitching host Maple Shade past Holy Cross, 4-3, in a semifinal.

Nonleague. Lower Cape May pitcher Mary Beth Keeler picked up her 100th career hit in the first inning, but the rest of the game went Wildwood's way as the visiting Warriors banged out 13 hits in an 11-6 victory.

Carolyn Clark scored all five of her goals on five first-half shots, as fifth-seeded Haddonfield ran out to a 9-4 lead and held on for a 13-10 win at No. 4 seed Bishop Eustace in a South Jersey Group 1 quarterfinal.

Clark also caused three turnovers, Maddie Kiep recorded a hat trick, and goalie Kelsey Welsh made seven saves for the Bulldogs.

Haddonfield advances to meet top-seeded Pingry in Tuesday's sectional semifinals.

Pingry ran out to an 11-0 halftime lead in eliminating No. 8 seed New Egypt, 17-4. Courtney Natalicchio's two goals led the Warriors, who ended their season with an 11-6 record.

South Jersey Group 3. Fourth-seeded Seneca mounted a second-half comeback behind the scoring of Dani Hubbs (4 goals) and Ellie Blythe (3 goals), but the host Golden Eagles' rally fell short in an 11-10 quarterfinal loss to No. 5 seed Notre Dame.

Cape-Atlantic. Cait Covella scored four times in the second half, giving her 102 career goals and sparking Our Lady of Mercy's 9-6, come-from-behind home win over Lower Cape May.

Corrine Etter came through with six goals and two assists, and Megan Hoffman scored four times for Millville, which kept its title hopes alive by doubling up host Middle Township, 16-8.

Nonleague. Chelsea McDowell reached 100 career goals by scoring five times, highlighting host Cinnaminson's 17-11 victory over Collingswood.

Carleigh MacWilliams added four goals for the Pirates, who seized a 12-5 first-half lead. Ellie O'Neill (4 goals) and Krista LaMaina (3 goals) paced the Panthers.
