Tues. S.J. boys' roundup: Cherry Hill East downs Clearview

Jared Hand contributed two goals and three assists while Eric Anderson and Colin Roualet each scored twice for East (1-2 overall, 1-1 conference).

Fifth-ranked Shawnee needed a solid effort across the board to pull out a 10-8 triumph in an Olympic Patriot match at ninth-ranked Kingsway.

Renegades goalie James Bickel (15 saves) shut out the Dragons in the fourth quarter, while Shawnee's attack was keyed by Owen Demmerly (four goals), Jamie Jackopin (three goals) and Eric Meyer (five assists).

In the Olympic National, sophomore Luke Pease pumped in five goals and set up a teammate's score to highlight third-ranked Haddonfield's 20-6 rout of visiting Gloucester Catholic.

Senior captain Mike Walker produced four goals and two assists and junior Shane Olimpio complemented his hat trick with three assists.

Colonial Valley. Jack Goracy, Colin McDonald and Aaron Bennett combined for nine goals and nine assists in powering host Rancocas Valley past New Egypt, 15-5.

Baseball

Jerry Branco raced home on a suicide squeeze bunt by Christian Cortese, capping a three-run seventh-inning rally that made host Delsea a 7-6 winner over Salem in a Tri-County Conference inter-division thriller.

Nick Freijomil also came up big in the Crusaders' final at-bat, ripping a run-scoring double and then scoring the tying run on an error.

Mingo Bay Classic. Doug Young struck out all three batters he faced for the save, and also starred at the plate with a home run, a double and two runs scored as Audubon edged Hampshire (West Va.), 6-5, in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Jesse Gold doubled in one run, and Kurt Taylor and Mike Pierce added run-scoring singles to lead Cherry Hill East over Jefferson (West Va.), 5-1.

Olympic. Andrew Fisher's one-out double brought home Danny O'Sullivan and Brenden Delmonte in the bottom of the eighth, lifting host Cherry Hill West over Camden Catholic, 4-3.

Burlington County. Florence's two-run fifth inning was fueled by four Maple Shade errors, and reliever Heath Fillmyer struck out five of the six batters he faced to preserve the Flashes' 2-0 road win.

Cape-Atlantic. Andrew Gee singled, doubled and drove in a run to allow Vineland to outlast host Oakcrest, 6-5.

Freshman Matt Ardente pitched a four-hit shutout for his first varsity win, and also batted 4 for 5 with four RBIs as host Absegami crushed Cedar Creek, 21-0.

Nonleague. Devon Bradshaw batted 3 for 4 with three RBIs, and Eddie Lopizzo contributed three hits, three runs and two RBIs for Wildwood, which scored six times in the seventh to overcome Fort Lee (NJ), 10-7, in Orlando, Fla.

In Myrtle Beach, S.C., Chris Ross and Bobby Isopi combined to drive in all of Lenape's runs in a 5-4 victory over Vandalia-Butler, Ohio.
