Tues. S.J. boys' roundup: RV's Flanagan earns 300th

Rancocas Valley's Jay Flanagan became the 26th boys' basketball coach in South Jersey history to reach 300 wins, when the Red Devils pounded visiting Pemberton, 56-38, on Tuesday in the Burlington County League.

Ned Ogoemesim and Dom Twitty scored 10 points apiece in the win.

In other Burlington County League action:

Shaun Russell (16 points) made the go-ahead basket and Bazil Jackson nailed a pair of free throws with 0.9 seconds left, cementing eighth-ranked Westampton Tech's 47-44 win at Burlington Township.

Moral Best poured in 29 points for Palmyra, which built an early double-digit lead and then survived a late rally to edge visiting Burlington City, 60-57. Josh Young had 11 of his 19 points down the stretch for the Blue Devils.

Colonial. Kept under wraps for most of the game, Daniel Triplett came through with the decisive plays in the final seconds as host Woodbury shocked Haddonfield, 46-44.

Triplett stole the ball and tied the score on a dunk, and then followed with the game-winning layup at the final buzzer to finish with six points.

Mike Smith's 13 points and 10 rebounds led the Thundering Herd (8-5 overall, 6-3 conference). Haddonfield (11-3, 8-1) suffered its first conference loss of the season, despite getting double-figure scoring from Mike Lacatena (14 points) and Chris Biddle (11).

Also in the Colonial:

Junior guard Trey Thatcher drained five three-pointers and converted 13 of 15 free throws to establish a career-high with 40 points, sending host Haddon Township past Sterling, 73-56.

Adin Borden, Audubon's junior point guard, had seven assists to go with a career-high 31 points, but it was Brandon Joyner (22 points) and visiting Haddon Heights that came away with a 65-51 victory.

James Bullock's 24 points led nine Overbrook players in the scoring column, as the host Rams battered Gateway, 63-32.

Olympic. Jay Howard (18 points) and Kris O'Connor (13) scored 7 points apiece in a 22-9 third-quarter spree, enabling top-ranked Paul VI to hold off visiting Woodrow Wilson, 59-51. Mikal Harris had 20 points for the Tigers.

Carson Puriefoy tossed in 29 points and dealt eight assists in guiding fourth-ranked Bishop Eustace to a 62-48 home win over Camden and Ajwan Leaming (21 points).

Devon Bell picked up 8 of his 17 points in a 13-0 game-opening run, starting second-ranked Eastern on its way to a 73-45 dismantling of visiting Cherokee.

Masner Beauplan (20 points) and Phil Mayhue (17) teamed up to score 19 in a 29-17 fourth-quarter spree that rallied Winslow Township to a 67-64 victory at Cherry Hill West. Marquis Goodman had 22 points and five assists for the Lions.

Donte Vaughan scored 22 of his 26 points over the final two quarters, and Brian Keller contributed 17 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists as host Triton maintained its Patriot Division lead by defeating Pennsauken, 72-66.

Tri-County. Deptford coach Bill Hoskins celebrated his 299th career victory, as Nick Lawson (14 points) and Brandon West (12) combined to make seven three-point baskets in a 63-26 rout at Pennsville.

Francis Christian sparked a 25-11 game-opening run with 15 of his 24 points, and Zak Barrett scored 15 of his 27 in the second half as host Wildwood held off Woodstown, 72-67, for its eighth consecutive win. Asher Kaithern's 26 points enabled the Wolverines to claw back into contention.

Ge'Shawn Davis led a balanced attack with 22 points, and DaQuan Chse (18 points) sank 7 of 8 free throws in the final 45 seconds to propel Penns Grove to a 73-65 triumph at Gloucester.

Tyree Brown led all scorers with 27 points, including 11 in the fourth quarter to give Highland a 49-46 win at Kingsway.

The tandem of Eric Stafford (28 points) and Tim Delaney (21) proved too much for GCIT, as host Pitman parlayed a strong start into a 61-48 victory.

Nonleague. Rashaan Armstead torched Camden County Tech's defense for 41 points - second in Schalick history only to Paul Gause's 45 points in 2005 - as the host Cougars ran away to an 82-56 victory. Armond Foster scored 21 for the Warriors.

Jordan Kennedy's baseline jumper with 4 seconds left made Delran a 48-46 winner at Pennsauken Tech.

Wrestling

Jason Cohen recorded a 47-second pin at 138 pounds, Joe Rocks (106 pounds) and Nigel Toussaint (220) each won by major decision, and Gabe Zarrot (120) and Angelo Algeri (170) added technical falls to help Egg Harbor Township defeat host Millville, 39-18, in the Cape-Atlantic League.
