Tues. S.J. boys' roundup: C.H. West triumphs at double-OT buzzer

Rodney Williams' buzzer-beating three-pointer from the top of the key in double overtime capped the best performance of his career, and made host Cherry Hill West an 82-81 winner over Pennsauken on Tuesday in a wild Olympic Conference boys' basketball game.

Williams, who made the tying layup at the end of the first overtime, established a career high with 39 points. The 5-foot, 11-inch sophomore point guard also was credited with 10 rebounds, six assists, and four steals.

Marquis Goodman added 16 points and Will Plenty chipped in seven assists and three steals for the Lions, who earned their first Patriot Division win of the season.

Pennsauken placed five scorers in double figures, led by Anewdy Saldana's 22 points.

In other Olympic Conference games:

Thomas Harper (25 points) drained four three-pointers in an 18-point first-quarter outburst, and Tavaris Headen netted 17 to help Camden hold off host Seneca, 66-58.

Brian Keller's double-double of 24 points and 16 rebounds highlighted host Triton's 60-43 romp past Timber Creek.

Tri-County. Senior forward Zak Barrett scored a career-high 38 points, with a pair of timely three-pointers in the fourth quarter, extending Wildwood's winning streak to six with a 71-69 decision at GCIT. The Cheetahs staged a late rally behind Sean Gahagan (19 points) and Kevin Smith (15).

In a game of runs, Gloucester stormed out to an 18-1 lead and then needed a putback by Tajee Almon (20 points) with 45 seconds left in regulation to finish off host Woodstown, 62-58. Stefano Okoro had a game-high 24 points for Gloucester, while Marcus Johnson's 18 points led the Wolverines.

Garrett Wilson produced 10 points and 11 rebounds, and Ge'Shawn Davis scored 15 as host Penns Grove used a balanced attack to turn back Pitman, 46-37.

Kyle McCulley made three shots from beyond the arc in scoring 13, and Cedric Elleby contributed 11 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three blocks as host Delsea slammed Schalick, 62-39.

Colonial. Billy Griffin (23 points) and Nick DePersia (16) had the hot hands for Haddonfield, and the Bulldogs used a 16-4 run down the stretch to put away host Overbrook, 62-46. James Bullock scored 20 for the Rams.

Austin Walker had half of Lindenwold's points in a 22-11 game-opening spree and went on to finish with 34, powering the Lions to a 61-35 rout at Audubon.

Host Haddon Township humbled Gateway, 57-32, thanks to 16 points by Dave Cuneo and Pat Burns' 10-point, 10-rebound performance.

Burlington County. Wes Kerr was clutch, knocking down three three-pointers in the fourth quarter to finish with 21 points and enable host Moorestown to nip Rancocas Valley, 62-59. Tariq Jett (25 points) kept the Red Devils within striking distance.

Tyrell Maloney poured in 35 points as fourth-ranked Willingboro doubled up host Holy Cross, 76-38.

Northern Burlington broke open a tight game in the second half, with Matt Johnson scoring 10 of his 23 points in key stretch that allowed the Greyhounds to run away from host Cinnaminson, 68-57.

Cape-Atlantic. Jaleel Christmon got off to a sizzling start, scoring 10 of his 19 points in the opening period, and Lamar Monroe came on to net 18 in Absegami's 79-55 triumph at Millville.

Mike Black (22 points) and Josh Evans (17) combined for 18 points in the third quarter, as Pleasantville surged ahead to stay in a 67-59 win at Egg Harbor Township.

Christian Mortellite led all scorers with 19 points and Bobby Barbieri (10 rebounds) netted 11 of his 13 points in the second half, helping host Hammonton edge Sacred Heart, 50-49.

Friends Schools. Dan Richards had 19 points for Moorestown Friends, which seized control in the second quarter and pulled away to a 42-33 victory at George School.

Nonleague. Davis Graham led all scorers with 18 points, including 12 in a 19-2 second-quarter spurt that sent host Doane Academy past Camden County Tech, 54-50.
