Wed. S.J. boys' roundup: EHT wins in thriller

Williams finished with 15 points in the Eagles' balanced attack, which also featured Rahim Bunch with 17 points and Tyler Dixon's 11 points. Mainland overcame a slow start, with Ted Mazzeio scoring 12 and Darius Jerkins and Pat Kugel netting 11 apiece.

In other Cape-Atlantic action:

Matt Bosch capped his 27-point performance by scoring 11 in the fourth quarter, enabling Ocean City to put away host Hammonton, 45-32. Christian Mortellite led the Blue Devils with 14 points.

Austin Johnson's 12 points and 11 rebounds led the way for St. Augustine, which ran out to a 17-4 lead in doubling up visiting Bridgeton, 52-26.

Olympic. Jerome Walters tossed in 18 points, including a pair of free throws that closed out the scoring in Woodrow Wilson's 68-64 win at Triton. Mikal Harris added 17 points, and Joseph Taylor and Sean Walters netted 13 apiece for the Tigers. Brian Keller's 22 points and 12 rebounds kept the Mustangs close.

Tavaris Headen provided Camden with an early spark by scoring 8 of his 12 points in the opening period, and Thomas Harper came alive in the second quarter - pumping in 12 of his 25 points - as the Panthers held on for a 62-53 victory at Cherokee.

Marc Schlessel and Jake Gurkin combined for 33 points and Cherry Hill East converted 6 of 7 free throws down the stretch to hand host Bishop Eustace its first loss, 65-55. Carson Puriefoy had 17 points while Trevor Norton nailed four treys in scoring 16 for the Crusaders.

Ryan Bodnar's 16 points topped Shawnee's scoring and Frank Destito provided the Renegades a presence in the paint, posting 11 rebounds and four blocked shots, in a 62-50 victory over visiting Seneca. Efthimios Mastrokyriakos (13 points) supplied perimeter scoring for the Golden Eagles.

Marquise McCormick (14 points), Mike Bach (13), and Wesley Lowber (11) led the charge for Washington Township's 63-51 win at Winslow Township. The Eagles' Adonius Melvins led all scorers with 16 points.

Mike Wilson knocked down four shots from beyond the arc in scoring 23, and Avery Walker battled inside for 10 points and 10 rebounds to help make host Eastern a 74-65 winner over Pennsauken.

Nonleague. Clinton Freeman dominated inside to the tune of 24 points and 15 rebounds, and Cape May Tech needed every bit of the 6-foot, 4-inch sophomore's effort to defeat visiting Glassboro, 55-51. Jake Heminway also recorded a double-double for the Hawks, finishing with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Josh Smith tossed in 21 points for Glassboro.

Wrestling

Paulsboro pitched a shutout over the final seven bouts to turn a 15-point deficit into a 38-24 win at Colonial Conference rival Collingswood.

Davontae Randall started the Red Raiders comeback with a 5-3 decision at heavyweight, followed by major decisions from Mickey Croce (106 pounds) and John Gentile (113). Sam Morina (120) added a pin, Ronald Gentile (126) posted a technical fall, Juan Rivera (132) came through with a major decision, and Cody Croce (138) capped the run with a 7-3 win.

Tri-County. Joseph Hunter needed just 25 seconds to take down his opponent at 195 pounds, and Clearview came up with nine other pins in cruising to a 63-16 victory at Cumberland.

Ronald Mestichelli (113 pounds), Robby Wittman (126), Edward Lenkowski (145), Connor Donahue (170), and Nick Cornew (220) also recorded first-period falls for the Pioneers.

In another Tri-County match, host Delsea dominated Deptford en route to a 68-10 win.

Tom Carney got the Crusaders on track with a pin in 1 minute, 33 seconds at 106 pounds, and John Borelli's fall in 1:14 at 126 pounds started a string of 11 straight victories - capped by William Porch's pin at heavyweight.

Burlington County. Cinnaminson posted six consecutive pins to put away visiting Rancocas Valley, 60-15.

The Pirates had 10 falls altogether, with Austin Emery (120 pounds), Quierre Murden (170) and Michael Shay (220) all getting the job done in less than a minute.
