Fri. S.J. girls’ roundup: Eustace outscores Camden Cath.

Lankford had a game-high five goals and Mary O'Connell scored four for the Crusaders, who built a 6-3 first-half lead.

The Irish fought back in the second half, with Shannon McCormick (four goals), Kaitlin McGinley (three) and Caitlin Brostrand (two) leading the way.

Bishop Eustace advances to Tuesday's semifinal at top-seeded Haddonfield.

Gretchen Kiep picked up three of her four goals in the first half to put the Bulldogs on track for an 11-5 victory over No. 9 seed Delran.

Lindsay Brophy, Laurel Falana and Taylor Ng chipped in two goals apiece for Haddonfield.

South Jersey Group 4. Washington Township's high-octane attack continued its torrid scoring pace, as the top-seeded Minutemaids raced past No. 9 seed Cherry Hill East, 20-11.

Junior Megan Tiernan set a personal season high with seven goals, Erin Waller and Katie Gill netted four apiece, and Jill Spencer had a goal and three assists for Township. The Minutemaids have totaled 39 goals in two playoff games, while outscoring their opponents 18-6 in the second half.

East fell despite getting four goals from Caroline DiBartolomeo.

Fourth-seeded Eastern, which will meet Washington Township in a semifinal on Tuesday, proved that it too can put the ball in the net. The Vikings stormed out to a 10-1 first-half lead in dismantling No. 5 seed Brick Memorial, 18-1.

Camille Perry and Taylor Johnson each had a hat trick for Eastern, which saw seven players contribute at least two goals.

South Jersey Group 3. Moorestown goalie Bridget Bianco recorded her 400th career save in backstopping the top-seeded Quakers to a 20-1 quarterfinal rout of No. 8 seed Wall Township.

Stephanie Toy's four goals led the onslaught, which saw 11 players make it onto the score sheet.

Next up for Moorestown will be a semifinal date with fourth-seeded Seneca on Tuesday.

Softball

Brittany Scott pitched an abbreviated perfect game while setting the Buena single-season record for strikeouts, and Maria Santiago surpassed the 100-hit mark as the host Chiefs crushed Cape May Tech, 17-0.

Scott, a junior righthander, fanned eight over three innings to give her 251 strikeouts this season - eclipsing the previous record of 245 set by Jenna Berenato in 2002.

Santiago reached the milestone on a first-inning triple, and the senior second baseman went on to finish the Cape-Atlantic League game with 102 career hits.

In another Cape-Atlantic game, Breann Swan batted 4 for 5, scored four times and drove in five runs to highlight Millville's 27-0 romp at Ocean City.

Tri-County. Roxy Osario laced a two-run triple to back the four-hit pitching of Danielle Aydelotte, as host Wildwood closed out its season by beating Clayton, 12-2.
