S.J. Girls’ Lacrosse Players to Watch

Attack

Melissa Arthur, Cherokee. Arthur netted 81 goals and 18 assists as a junior. She will look to add to her 175 career goals before heading to Rutgers next season.

Emily Duffey, Lenape. An emerging superstar, Duffey already has 124 career goals after totaling 78 goals and 20 assists as a sophomore.

Nicole Troost, Shawnee. Troost led the Group 3 state champions with 73 goals and 22 assists as a sophomore last season.

Midfield

Josie Quaile, Clearview. As a junior in her first year at midfield last year, Quaile collected 50 goals and 26 assists. She spent her first two years playing defense.

Cait Brostrand, Camden Catholic. The most dangerous goal-scorer in South Jersey, Brostrand led the area with 103 goals last season. Brostrand, a La Salle recruit, enters her senior season with 206 career goals.

Maddie Kiep, Haddonfield. Kiep, who had 40 goals and 11 assists last year as sophomore, is poised for a breakout season for a veteran Haddonfield team.

Kristin Kocher, Shawnee. Kocher, a junior and Rutgers recruit, scored 51 goals last season and proved equally effective on defense.

Stephanie Toy, Moorestown. Toy, a Notre Dame recruit, recorded 50 goals and 18 assists last season as a sophomore for Moorestown.

Defense

Rebecca Meyers, Lenape. A force on both ends of the field, Meyers scooped 64 ground balls, caused 39 turnovers, and collected 12 goals and five assists as a junior.

Taylor Foussadier, Washington Township. Foussadier will captain the Minutemaids this season. She is coming off a junior campaign in which she recorded 63 groundballs.

Kierstan Smith, Shawnee. Smith, a senior, will combine with a fellow University of Delaware recruit, goalkeeper Alex Zagura, to form one of the toughest defenses in South Jersey.

Goalie

Bridget Bianco, Moorestown. The Inquirer's reigning South Jersey Player of the Year, Bianco, a Northwestern recruit and one of the most highly rated high school players in the country, will try to add a final chapter to a storied career.
