Holy Cross girls prevail over Delran in double overtime

Neighborhood rivalries don't get much more intense than this.

Amanda Offenback and Devon Howard converted key baskets during the second overtime Monday and led Holy Cross to a 50-46 victory over visiting Delran in a Burlington County Patriot Division girls' basketball game.

Alliya Butts drained a free throw for the Lancers at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime and Offenback struck for a put-back to force the second overtime period.

Offenback and Howard hit put-backs to give Holy Cross a four-point lead, and Butts iced the game with a basket at the buzzer.

Butts scored 13 points for the Lancers (10-2 overall, 4-1 league) while Aliyah Murray scored 18 points for the Bears (8-2, 4-1), who won the first meeting, 42-33.

Nonleague. Aleia Glick collected 20 points and led Delsea past host Gateway, 62-56.

Alisha Fox contributed 29 points and teammate Meghan Nowak added 24 points for the Gators.

Lisa Kostelski was perfect on seven free-throw attempts and scored 19 points as Cherry Hill West beat host Camden Academy Charter, 60-42.

Boys' Basketball

Aamir Petros recorded a triple-double and lifted Woodbury past Pleasantville, 75-65, in the Martin Luther King Showcase at Camden.

Petros scored 25 points, pulled down 24 rebounds, and blocked 10 shots.

Host Camden got seven-three-pointers and 26 points from Jerome Randall and beat LEAP Academy Charter, 80-62.

Martin Luther King Classic. DaRon Curry and Brandon West each scored 13 points as Deptford slipped past Sterling, 55-54, at Paulsboro.

Ge'Shawn Davis struck for 20 points and helped Penns Grove beat Burlington City. 70-68.

Arenge/DeVito Showcase. Jason Hutzler poured in 25 points and led Lindenwold to a 67-62 win over Glassboro at Pemberton.

Jalon Wilson chipped in with 13 points as Burlington Township topped Doane Academy, 68-44.

Olympic. Kyle Green struck for nine of his 30 points in the first quarter and boosted Camden Catholic to a 63-49 win over visiting Woodrow Wilson.

Nonleague. Jamel Smith dropped in 17 points for New Egypt in a 50-38 win over visiting Westhampton Tech.

Buena got 13 points from Art Fields and beat visiting Pennsville, 56-43.

Sho DaSilva came through with 14 points and 13 rebounds as Bishop Eustace handled visiting Washington Township, 57-30.

Wrestling

Storm Perez picked up a pair of pins as Deptford split a pair of matches.

Perez needed just 12 seconds to pin at 103 pounds as the Spartans beat Schalick, 43-25, in a Tri-County Conference encounter.

In a 42-33 nonleague loss to Ocean City, Perez earned a pin in 1 minute, 12 seconds.

Dylan Thesing notched a pin in 56 seconds at 112 pounds as Highland beat visiting Gloucester Catholic, 54-16.

Colonial. Vance Morine took 46 seconds to gain a pin at 135 pounds and helped Lindenwold beat Overbrook, 59-18.

Nonleague. Travis McDowell decked his opponent at 145 pounds in one minute and helped Delran beat visiting Egg Harbor Township, 45-30.
