Cherry Hill East's Jamie Silverberg was a good tennis player as a freshman. She was even better as a sophomore.

Now a junior, Silverberg has taken her game to another level.

"She's improved 50 percent from last year," Cherry Hill East coach Mary Jewett said. "She took a big jump from freshman year to sophomore year, and now she's taken another big jump."

Silverberg (4-0 through Tuesday) will be the No. 1 seed at this weekend's Camden County tournament at Eastern. She is the defending champion.

Haddonfield sophomore Taylor Ng (9-2) is the No. 2 seed. Silverberg defeated Ng by a 6-1, 7-5 score in a regular-season match Monday.

Last season, Silverberg and Ng played three times, with Ng winning twice and Silverberg winning in three sets in the finals of the Camden County tournament.

"She's playing amazing," Jewett said of Silverberg. "Her footwork is flawless."

Other singles players to watch in the Camden County tournament are Haddonfield seniors Spencer Ng and Martha Theodoris, Eastern junior Steph Kaplan, and Eastern freshman Lauren Altschuler.

Spencer Ng, Taylor's sister, is 12-0, mostly at No. 3 singles. Theodoris is 10-1 at No. 2 singles.

Kaplan is 5-2, mostly at No. 1 singles. Altschuler, who was slightly injured in the preseason, recently moved into the Vikings' lineup at No. 1 singles.

Bishop Eustace sophomore No. 1 Ania Krawiec (7-0) will not play in the Camden County tournament as a precautionary measure to rest her shoulder, Crusaders coach Linda Miller said.

Haddonfield's doubles teams are the top two seeds. Junior Catherine Senopoulos and senior Meghan Burns are the top seeds, and junior Rebecca Senopoulos and freshman Victoria Martinez are the No. 2 seeds.

Burlco upset. Cherokee sophomore Lauren Tracy scored a slight upset with a victory over Moorestown junior Emma Allen, the No. 1 seed, Monday in the finals of the Burlington County Open.

Tracy, who has a 6-1 record (losing only to Krawiec in three sets), defeated Allen, 6-3, 6-2.

Moorestown freshman Breezy Maravich won at No. 2 singles, and Moorestown sophomore Shelby Burke won at No. 3 singles as the Quakers captured the team title.

This and that. Through Tuesday, Woodstown junior Lindsey Kayati was 7-0 and had lost just two games, and Holy Spirit junior Adrienne Kaye was 6-0 and also had lost just two games. . . . Woodbury sophomore Maddie Graziani is 9-0. She won the Gloucester County Times tournament for the second year in a row, beating teammate Isabella Schoning in the finals last week. . . . Haddonfield has won 45 matches in a row. The Bulldogs' last loss was in the 2008 Tournament of Champions.
