Ocean City’s DiGiovanni sparkles for girls’ soccer all-stars

Ocean City's Carly DiGiovanni scored both goals as the Red beat the White in the South Jersey Soccer Coaches Association girls' senior all-star game last night at Kingsway.

Normally a defender, DiGiovanni played up top last night. It was her first action representing Ocean City since suffering a lacerated liver in a game Oct. 1 against Oakcrest.

Haddonfield's Kathleen Jordan, a day after getting a goal and an assist in Haddonfield's 2-1 overtime state Group 2 title win over Mahwah, had a strong game. Jordan assisted on DiGiovanni's first goal.

In the boys' game, the White received second half goals from Bishop Eustace's Erik Montinard and Oakcrest's Matt Veltri to defeat the Red, 2-0. Cherry Hill East goalie Mike Randall played the second half for the White and made several outstanding saves.
