Colonial all-stars pin Tri-County

Paulsboro's Alex Silvestro posted a third-period pin at 215 pounds and clinched the Colonial Conference wrestling all-stars' 36-21 win over the Tri-County Conference all-stars yesterday at Clearview.

The Tri-County led by 18-15 before the Colonial squad won five of the last six weights. Paulsboro's Jeff Hamilton started the comeback with a 6-2 decision at 152 pounds, followed by an overtime rideout win at 160 by Paulsboro's Mike Cucinotta after a 2-2 standoff with Kingsway's Mark Gattuso.

Schalick's Aaron Wilcox scored a pin at 135 and Clayton's Scott Wear outlasted West Deptford's Joe Palese, 11-9, at 140 to help the Tri-County take the early lead.

The meet ended with Silvestro's pin over Kingsway's Cody Berry in 5 minutes, 41 seconds, followed by a pin in 1:58 by Paulsboro heavyweight Demetrius Hester over Kingsway's Andrew Price.
