Friday's South Jersey football roundup: Holy Spirit upsets Camden Catholic, Camden mounts major comeback

Camden overcame a 17-point first-half deficit to score 30 unanswered points to knock off Rancocas Valley, 30-24. David Taplin caught a Hail Mary at end of the first half to put the Panthers on the board. Najyere Edwards' 67-yard touchdown run gave Camden its first lead in the third quarter. Premire Wilson and Damon Rice added touchdowns for the winners. Red Devils' Iverson Clement added two rushing touchdowns in a losing effort.

Holy Spirit 42, Camden Catholic, 26: Quarterback Josh Zamot and running back Elijah Gray combined for six touchdowns in the Spartans' win over the Irish. Tommy Finan and Lee Dawson caught Zamot's two touchdown passes.

Vineland 58, Mainland, 0: Isaih Pacheco racked up 169 yards and three touchdowns of 37, 1, and 69 yards for the Fighting Clan in the first half. Nihym Anderson rushed for two touchdowns and De'Andre Tull-Kennedy added a 94-yard kickoff return to open the third quarter.

Millville 42, Cumberland, 6: Elijah Nichols connected on three touchdowns of 39, 57, and 16 yards to lead the Thunderbolts. Clayton Scott also added three scores on the ground, the longest coming from 74-yards out.

Sterling 43, Cherry Hill West, 0: Damire Hutchinson ran for three touchdowns, bringing his season total to eight for the Silver Knights. Greg Harris added a rushing score while Jarred Mattchet returned an interception for 90-yards.

Pennsville 47, Gloucster, 6: Nick Bard rushed for four touchdowns, including an 84-yarder, in the Eagles' victory over the Lions. Bard has over 1,000 yards rushing on the season. Brandon Morris delivered two touchdown passes to Mickey Tilton and Brady Locke.
