Not sure how fair it is for a Catholic team that recruits from all over the City and Suburbs to play against the Public League team where you have to live in the District.

pnolan...yeah but you have to pass a test to get in so most of the best athletes can't don't make it and and I guess Wood & West Catholic get the pick of the litte- too. Now all the moaning begins. mbuck keep the day job because LaSalle's opponent had nothing...not even close.

LaSalle does not recruit. As a PCL school they have open enrollment. Like a public Charter School. Their academic standards are high and you have to be a good student. If you can't keep good grades, you are gone. The only PCL school that actively recruits atheletes is Saint Joe Prep. They have a lot of South Jersey kids. The LaSalle kids are from Philly, Eastern Montgomery County and Lower Bucks County.

The bottom line is the Philadelphia Catholic League is stronger and always has been stronger than ANY of the Ciy, Suburban Public or Inter-Ac leagues. The PCL has arrived and the PIAA is noticing.

PCL fan don't single out St Joe's as both schools seem even that way and if La Salle was located in N Philly close to NJ they would have NJ kids too. I know a family who had two boys attend SJP and the son #3 plays (today)on La Salle because he could not pass the SJP test legacy and all so which school has the high standa-ds?

phillysgone, I said nothing about the Prep's academics. For some reason Prep people always get very touchy about that? I have no affiliation with either school. I do know that LaSalle has extremeley high standards but they also have a program that helps kids that need it, but to get into that program the kids still have to be smart and they aren't their to play sports. They are their for the education. Enough said.

I am not a "Prep People" I went to La Salle but could not afford to finish and had one son go to the Prep and the other to La Salle (he didn't pass the prep test)and the Prep is a more rigorous(3 yr Latin required)plus another foreign language required. All coaches recruit the Prep and La Salle just is more enticing for a parent if they can afford it as no one goes for free. They at least probably pay the tuition of the other Catholic high schools...believe I know.

I don't "believe". I thought you knew "a family who had two boys attend SJP and #3 plays (today) on LaSalle because blah ..blah..blah..". You went to LaSalle? One of your sons went to the Prep? Your other son went to LaSalle because he took after you? Maybe you should have let your tax dollars work and hope that public school special education system could help the one that takes after you and not spend $5000 extra in addition to the $15,000 LaSalle tuition. Again, enough said.

PCL fan...I have to live inside the city as it is a job requirement as did my father so what education options do we have other than private school. Another thing you are the one throwing around the insults without even comprehending what I am saying. I wish LaSalle luck next week and I really hope they win but don't jinx them by talking smack...try to have at least some of the class they do!!!

LaSalle doesn't recruit. CJ Aiken really wanted to go there and he actually passed the entrance exam. Gotta love LaSalle Alum.
