Michael Dickson of Downingtown East wins state tennis singles title

Michael Dickson of Downingtown East defeated Matt Robinson of Lower Merion, 6-1, 6-3, Saturday to win the PIAA Class 3A singles tennis championship. Robinson's teammate, Matt Chen, defeated Connor Bruce of Peters Township for third place.

In Class 3A state doubles action, brothers Joe and Matt DeMarco of Cathedral Prep won, 6-2, 6-1, over Upper Dublin's Bryan Szayna and Danny Katz.

Third place went to Great Valley's Nikili Gangoli and Sam Kesti. The pair defeated Xandi Hammitt and Clay Gleski of Strath Haven, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3.

Rowing

Father Judge's rowing team won a national title Saturday at the Scholastic Rowing Association's national championship regatta. The team's varsity four finished in 4 minutes, 54.215 seconds in the grand final for gold.
