Haverford School boys swim past GA

Haverford School's boys' swimming and diving team defeated Germantown Academy, 98-83, in an Inter-Ac League matchup. Freshman Antonio Octaviano placed first in the 100-meter breaststroke breaking Haverford School's record for the event with a time of 1 minute, 6.62 seconds. The record was previously held by Matt Luminais at 1:07:88, set in 2012.

Freshman Antonio Octaviano placed first in the 100-meter breaststroke breaking Haverford School's record for the event with a time of 1 minute, 6.62 seconds. The record was previously held by Matt Luminais at 1:07:88, set in 2012.

Octaviano also placed first in the 200 medley relay and the 200 freestyle relay.

Octaviano, along with junior Alex Boratto, sophomore J.R. Leitz, and freshman Brian Brennan broke the school record for the 200 freestyle relay in 1:38:19. The record was previously held by Boratto, Brennan, Matt Haigh, and Harrison White at 1:38:40, set last year.

In addition, Boratto placed first in the 100 freestyle and along with Brennan, junior John Nelligan, and senior Charlie Ryan placed first, breaking the school record, in the 400- meter freestyle relay with a time of 3:35:64.

The previous record, set in 2016, was held by Ryan, Boratto, Haigh, and David Mitchell at 3:36:44.

Ryan also placed first in the 200 medley relay, 100 butterfly, and 100 backstroke.

Nelligan also placed first in the 200 individual medley.

Senior Will Russell placed first in the 200 medley relay.

Junior T.J. Brooks placed first in the 50 freestyle and freshman Connor Brala placed first in diving.

Girls' Basketball

St. Basil's Natalie Kucowski became the first player in school history with 1,000 rebounds as the Panthers defeated Villa Joseph Marie, 45-24, in a Catholic Academies matchup.

Kucowski had 12 rebounds, along with 18 points.
