Florence romps past Palmyra

Host Florence shut out Palmyra, 54-0, in a West Jersey League Freedom football matchup. Mike Pancini had 11 carries for 151 yards, Jeffrey Murray had three rushes for 95 yards, and LaDarius McNeil had six rushes for 57 yards for the Flashes.

Mike Pancini had 11 carries for 151 yards, Jeffrey Murray had three rushes for 95 yards, and LaDarius McNeil had six rushes for 57 yards for the Flashes.

Murray had two touchdowns, one of which was a 98-yard kickoff return. Pancini and McNeil each added a touchdown for Florence.

Cameron Phillips passed for two touchdowns, one to McNeil and one to Hunter Daly. Jaylen Lewis, Joe LeVach, and Jajuan Hays rounded out the scoring for the Flashes.

Boys' Soccer

Visiting Cherokee defeated Paul VI, 6-0, in Olympic Conference play. Ryan Haines led the scoring for the Chiefs with two goals, while Nigel Elcock, Dylan Pepperman, and Rome Young each added a goal. Jake Treiber had three assists for Cherokee and Travis Gould had one.

Nonleague. Pennsauken defeated host Holy Cross, 1-0. Andrew Dicken scored the only goal of the game in the first half. Aaron Chester held onto the lead for the Indians, making 15 saves.

Host Sterling held a 3-2 lead after the first half and held on to defeat Haddonfield, 4-3. Bryan Andrade led the scoring for the Silver Knights with two goals, and Zach Collins and Simon Reng Thlang rounded out the scoring. Andrade and Stephen Huesken each had one assist. Fahri Sivri got the shutout.

Girls' Soccer

Host Shawnee defeated Winslow Township, 4-0, in Olympic Conference play. Vanessa Alessi, Erica Barr, Christina Corbi, and Liv Schuck scored for the Renegades. Leah Schneidereit made four saves for the shutout.

Nonleague. Eastern defeated visiting Clearview, 2-0. Amirah Ali and Francesca DiColandrea scored for the Vikings. Ali and Alyssa Bentz had assists, while Mikayla Ronczka made 11 saves for the shutout.

Doane Academy tied with host Phil-Mont Christian, 3-3. The Spartans came back from a 2-0 deficit at the end of the first half to break even with the Falcons.

Field Hockey

St. Joseph defeated host Pitman, 5-2, in a nonleague game. Julia Jones led the scoring for the Wildcats, while Gianna Morganti, Gab Socca, and Kassidy Wentzell each added a point of their own. Morganti was credited with an assist for St. Joseph while Alexis Orcutt made seven saves.

Elsewhere in nonleague action:

Host Sterling defeated Gloucester, 1-0. Alyssa Morello was the lone scorer, assisted by Mya Wence.
