Bautista hits and pitches Swenson by Masterman

Swenson's Alex Bautista closed the door on Masterman by utilizing his skills at bat and on the mound. Bautista hit the go-ahead two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth before taking the mound in the seventh and retiring the side to give the host Lions an 11-9 victory over the Blue Dragons.

Bautista hit the go-ahead two-run triple in the bottom of the sixth before taking the mound in the seventh and retiring the side to give the host Lions an 11-9 victory over the Blue Dragons.

Swenson trailed Masterman, 8-0, entering the fifth inning. Kyle Nolde three-run double sparked the home team during an eight-run fifth.

Luis Garced pitched the three innings and earned the win.

In other Public League Division A action:

Michael Angellilli went 3 for 3 with two runs scored and host Northeast defeated GAMP, 11-4.

Brenden Beltran doubled twice and visiting Franklin Towne Charter defeated Prep Charter, 7-1.

Central League. Rick Collings struck out seven batters and earned the win for visiting Marple Newtown as the Tigers edged Springfield (D), 3-2.

Ches-Mont League. Andrew Brady had three hits and three RBIs, including the winning one in Avon Grove's 10-8 victory at Downingtown East.

Bicentennial League. Brock Hewitt struck out seven batters and came one error away from a perfect game as host Plumstead Christian routed Valley Forge Military Academy, 12-0.

Boys' Tennis

La Salle's first singles player Andrew Lutschaunig defeated Grant Bianchi, 6-0, 6-1, to help the host Explorers to a 4-1 victory over St. Joseph's Prep in the Catholic League championship.

The win marks the 10th straight title for La Salle.

Softball

Caela Abadi of West Chester Rustin hit a three-run homer and collected four RBIs in the Golden Knights' 18-5 road win over Unionville.

In other Ches-Mont League action:

Lilly Najim drove in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and visiting Downingtown West blanked Bishop Shanahan, 4-0.

Sarah Oscar hit a walk-off single and host Kennett edged Oxford, 7-6.

Central League. Brooke Nicander struck out six batters and visiting Radnor defeated Strath Haven, 6-5.
