Pa. girls: Avon Grove's Balint moves to 10-1 for the season

The University of Oregon recruit recorded seven strikeouts while Morgan Defeo went 4 for 4 with two RBIs for the Red Devils.

Elsewhere in Ches-Mont League action:

Devon Miller tossed a complete-game with nine strikeouts as she led host Bishop Shanahan past West Chester Rustin, 12-5. Hannah Kieper and Ava Dudkiewicz both homered for the Eagles.

Inter-Ac. Ayanna Matthews went 4 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBIs in Penn Charter's 14-4 rout of host Agnes Irwin.

Matthews fell a double short of hitting for the cycle. Eileen Hennessy recorded a pair of triples and four RBIs.

Public League Bronze. Shana Ross threw seven innings and logged eight strikeouts to lead Bartram past visiting Mastery South, 14-13. The slugfest included 33 combined hits.

Lacrosse

Trailing by one at halftime, Notre Dame outscored host Springside Chestnut Hill by six in the second half to rally for a 14-9 victory in Inter-Ac League play. Caroline Allen and Julia Dambly each recorded a hat tricks for the Irish.

Nonleague. With three saves, Christina O'Rangers had a quiet night backstopping host Marple Newtown in a 15-1 romp over Penn Wood. Becca Ritchie scored a game-high four goals.

Pioneer Athletic. Sydney Fox led all scorers with four goals in Boyertown's 9-8 win over visiting Upper Perkiomen.
