C.B. East's Vare named Gatorade player of the year

Central Bucks East forward Evan Vare has been named the Gatorade boys' soccer player of the year for Pennsylvania. The explosive Lafayette recruit scored 42 goals this past season and had 13 assists, finishing his career with 89 goals and 42 assists. One of the best finishers in the area, Vare was named The Inquirer's Southeastern Pennsylvania player of the year for the last two seasons, as he led the Patriots to back-to-back District 1 Class AAA titles as a junior and senior.

In November, C.B. East ended a 26-0 season with a 2-0 win over Seneca Valley for the program's first PIAA Class AAA state title.

Vare is a two-time first-team all-state selection, and was also named the 2015 Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association player of the year.
