Pa. boys: Haverford School rallies to stun Malvern Prep

BASKETBALL INTER-AC Haverford School 93, Malvern Prep 86: Gavin Burke and Jack Marshall each scored 24 points as the host Fords rallied to win after trailing by 20 points in the second quarter. Burke, a freshman, knocked down five threes. Haverford trailed by seven points after three quarters, but opened the fourth on an 8-0 run. Marshall and Kharon Randolph each scored 15 points in the second half. The Fords sealed the win by shooting 9 for 10 from the foul line in the final two minutes.

Penn Charter 67, Springside Chestnut Hill 41: Harrison Williams needed just two seconds to score six points as the visiting Quakers rolled. Williams made a three-point play in the fourth quarter and then stole the inbound pass. He was promptly fouled and completed another three-point play. Williams finished with 16 points. Adam Holland added 12 points and five assists.

FRIENDS SCHOOLS LEAGUE FIRST ROUND

Shipley 55, Germantown Friends 43: Arvelle Jones led the host Gators with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Shipley, who closed the game on a 27-2 run, will meet Friends' Central on Tuesday in the semifinal.

CATHOLIC LEAGUE

Neumann-Goretti 86, Father Judge 66: Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree led the visiting Saints with 12 points and nine rebounds. Vaughn Covington added six steals. Zane Martin poured in 27 points.

Archbishop Carroll 78, Lansdale Catholic 32: Josh Sharkey dished out six assists, recorded seven steals, and scored 11 points to pace the visiting Patriots. Colin Daly added 18 points and his brother, Ryan, added 13.

La Salle 61, West Catholic 55: Ryan McTamney scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the visiting Explorers pulled away behind a big second half. La Salle outscored West by 11 points after halftime. Shane Stark added nine points and seven rebounds. Jarrod Stukes scored 16 points, dished out four assists, and recorded three steals. Matt Paulus had five assists.

Archbishop Ryan 51, Cardinal O'Hara 42: Izaiah Brockington led the visiting Raiders by scoring 14 of his 21 points in the second half. Austin Slawter had five rebounds and five assists. Austin Chabot and Freddie Killian each had six rebounds.

Bonner-Prendergast 65, Bishop McDevitt 45: Keith Washington scored 16 points as the visiting Friars rolled. Christian Lane added 14 points and Justin Gans finished with 13. Chris Moore grabbed eight rebounds and scored 10 points for McDevitt. Evan Zehren added a pair of steals.

SUBURBAN ONE AMERICAN

Norristown 81, Cheltenham 74: Darryl Carr scored 22 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the host Eagles rolled. Darius McGowan added 12 points and seven rebounds. Roy Green led the scoring with 29 points.

BICENTENNIAL LEAGUE

Devon Prep 55, Bristol 54 (OT): Daniel Shannon provided the winning shot in overtime as the host Tide escaped with a win.

MaST Charter 45, Christopher Dock 43: Shane Henehan scored 13 points and Matt Carter added 15 points for the visiting Panthers.
