Lacrosse: Garnet Valley, St. Joseph's Prep win PIAA quarterfinals

Kamryn McNeal and Emily Mathewson each scored three goals to push Garnet Valley to a 14-12 victory over Manheim Township in the PIAA lacrosse quarterfinals Saturday at Exeter Township. Mathewson also had four assists. Boys' Lacrosse Peter Gayhardt's six goals powered St. Joseph's Prep to a 15-7 win over Manheim Township in the PIAA quarterfinals at Exeter Township. Kevin Stump had three goals and Andrew Watts had two goals and two assists.

Boys' Lacrosse

Peter Gayhardt's six goals powered St. Joseph's Prep to a 15-7 win over Manheim Township in the PIAA quarterfinals at Exeter Township. Kevin Stump had three goals and Andrew Watts had two goals and two assists.

U-19 team. Four area players have been selected to try out for the U.S. men's national under-19 team. Dox Aitken and Grant Ament, both of Haverford School, along with Adam Goldner (Malvern Prep) and Michael Sowers (Upper Dublin) will attend the three-day tryouts beginning July 29 in Owings Mills, Md.
